Vivienne’s Story

Vivienne came to the SNAFU Rescue via a private party. Her previous owners wanted her placed in a loving home to live the rest of her life as a cherished pet.

Vivienne is a laid-back, social, lighthearted, chill Pug who loves being able to snuggle her people. You can often find Vivi (as she is affectionately referred to) watching her foster pug sibling’s shenanigans from the sidelines as she is WAY too mature to participate in such silly banter. She would rather grab a spot on the couch or in a comfy bed and nibble away on her favorite bone and quickly fall into a quick pug snooze. After a little snooze, Vivi is once again grabbing a few of her favorite chews (no hide chews or boarhides are her favorite) and collecting them to ensure all of them are for her. She isn’t one to share her prized possessions with her furry friends but will share them with her loved humans.

Vivi enjoys a daily (short) stroll around the block to show off her perfected leash skills; this little lady will let you know once she is done exercising! After exhausting herself walking…Vivi will find a soft comfy bed to lay on or even better; she will snuggle with one of her furry friends if they initiate it. She really is an overall content girl that goes with the flow, beats to her drum, and can make those that love her most giggle throughout the day. As mentioned, Vivi currently lives with several furry foster siblings. She can fit right into a pack as long as they are respectful.

Vivi is experiencing a big transition and will need proper leadership and guidance to know what is expected in her adoptive home. She is smart, a fast learner, and is motivated so we know Vivi will be quick to adapt to yet another new home with the proper leadership! Vivi seems to get along well with every human (big or small) as she is happiest when she is around her people. She is very gentle with the littles and offers lots of love. Her foster family believes she would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children of any age and a home with other balanced, relaxed furry members or equally as good as an only pet. As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs and supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both she and they are kept safe.

Vivienne is doing extremely well with potty training and is 97% trained; she will have an occasional accident but they truly are VERY few and far between (the cold weather is to blame). She quickly picked up going outside as she mimicked the other dogs in the home. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to offer her a consistent schedule and possibly work with her on a signal for potty. Vivienne is crate trained, has not had any accidents but is not a huge fan of her crate. She overall does not like to be alone much and the separation from her people causes some anxiety. When her family happens to be away from the home, she is safely secure in her crate. We think since Vivi loves to cuddle and snuggle her people, that she would love to share a bed with her adoptive family. For her safety, we recommend a similar schedule is kept for her when her people are away from the home and at night as she doesn’t know danger. 

Medically, Vivienne seems to be in good health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, had a dental, nares widened, palate shortened, microchipped, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! It is important Vivienne is kept at a healthy weight; she still is working on losing one or two more lbs.

Vivienne would do great in most any single-family home without shared walls. She has mastered a small amount of stairs so a multiple floor style dwelling home would be ok for her as long as a pair of loving arms are available when she needs them. A home with shared walls is NOT ideal for Vivi as the noises she can make when left alone may disrupt the neighbors. A home with or without a fenced yard would be okay for Vivienne as she is not overly active but should ALWAYS be secure in a leash and harness while outside. We also think Vivienne would love a low-key family that isn’t one for the hustle and bustle of a busy lifestyle.

Vivi just wants to be anywhere and everywhere her people are and would love a mom/dad that will allow morning kisses, short walks, couch time, nap time and cuddle time. She just really loves all people that will offer her attention. We think she would love to go to the office with her new family! She can be a little grunty (like most pugs) but is very happy to be near her humans and would relax in a comfy bed and chew a bone as the work hours pass. You can’t take her to the office- that’s okay; she would love a part-time or full-time work-from-home or stay-at-home family member.


Truly, Vivienne is just looking for a family who will love and care for her and wants a shadow following them around 24/7.
