Tyson’s Story

Tyson came into the SNAFU Rescue via a shelter release. The shelter wanted him to be placed in a breed specific rescue to help find a solve for his allergies and to find a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.

Tyson is the ultimate mix of playful energy and lazy couch potato! This outgoing, lovable English Bulldog has two speeds: all in or all out. When he’s not snoozing the day away in a cozy spot, he’s ready for action and will make sure you know it!

Tyson absolutely loves to play and will bring you his favorite rope or plush toy, staring you down until you agree to a game of tug-of-war. And once you start, get ready—Tyson is relentless! He’ll dig in with all his Bulldog strength, shaking his head and refusing to let go until he’s officially won. Tug-of-war is his absolute favorite game, and he’ll happily challenge anyone willing to engage in his favorite pastime. Occasionally, he’ll entertain himself with a quick game of fetch, but tug is where he truly shines. He also has a soft spot for chewing on bones, though he’s not always the best at sharing—if he wants it, he’s taking it!

Tyson is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and thrives on attention. He was a total star at the recent meet-and-greet event at Vino Mas, charming everyone—including kids—with his happy-go-lucky personality. That being said, Tyson does have a bit of a “Bulldog bite” when taking treats—he doesn’t mean to chomp fingers, but due to some vision issues, he isn’t always precise. He means well, but little hands will need to be careful!

Beyond his love for tug-of-war, Tyson is a big fan of the great outdoors. He loves running around the yard, soaking up the sun, and rolling in the grass. He’ll zoom around with excitement before plopping down to sunbathe, letting the warmth hit his adorable Bulldog buns. If there’s a sunny spot, you can bet Tyson will find it and claim it as his personal relaxation zone.

When it comes to other dogs, Tyson is a bundle of enthusiasm. He gets along well with canine friends and would love a home with a playful dog that matches his energy level. Wrestling, chasing, and playing keep-away are his favorite pastimes, and he enjoys snuggling up with a furry companion after a long day of fun. However, he isn’t always the best at reading social cues—if another dog isn’t interested in playing, Tyson might not get the message right away and will keep trying to engage. As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe. Tyson does chase squirrels so a cat-free home is recommended.

Tyson is looking for a home that will embrace both his playful and cuddly sides. He would do well with another dog that enjoys his rough-and-tumble playstyle, or he’d be just as happy soaking up all the love as an only pet but he would MUCH prefer a pal to share his days with. He’s a big-hearted, goofy Bulldog who will make you laugh daily and keep you entertained with his antics. If you’re looking for a best friend who is equal parts snuggly and spirited, Tyson is your guy!

Tyson is 100% housebroken and has never had an accident in his foster home. He’s fantastic about doing his business quickly outside, making potty breaks a breeze. Tyson is also crate trained, though he’d much prefer to be curled up on the sofa or snuggled in bed with his people at night. He’ll go into his crate for a treat but can be a bit reluctant at times. In his foster home, he is crated anytime the family is away and at night. He sleeps quietly unless he knows someone is home—then he’ll be sure to let you know that he’d much rather be part of the action. With time and consistency, we believe Tyson could earn full house privileges and be trusted to sleep outside of his crate in his forever home. He would absolutely love to share a bedroom with his adoptive family, soaking up all the love and companionship he craves.

Medically, Tyson seems to be in good health!  He has been neutered, had a dental, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Tyson suffers from chronic dry eye and those pesky Bulldog allergies.  He must be kept on a daily RX eye drop in perpetuity as he does not naturally produce tears.  In addition, Tyson requires daily allergy meds (OTC daily and RX as needed to manage flare-ups) and daily wipe-downs.  His environmental allergies appear to be severe and require maintenance. He should be kept on a limited-ingredient diet and offered mediated baths 1-2 times per week.

Tyson would do well in a home that embraces his playful and adventurous spirit. While a fenced yard isn’t required, it would be preferred, as he loves to zoom around and soak up the sun. He walks well on a leash, making daily walks or outings a great way to meet his exercise needs. Tyson would thrive in a household with another dog that matches his playful energy and enjoys a good game of tug-of-war.

He would love a family that takes him on adventures, whether it’s car rides, outdoor excursions, or simply spending quality time together. Tyson has no trouble getting on the couch or bed and should be fine with the stairs. He also makes an excellent office companion—he’s happiest curled up under a desk or hanging out with his people while they work.  Tyson would do well with a full or part-time work-from-home or stay-at-home parent as he really adores his humans! If that isn’t possible, he is okay to sleep the day away in his favorite room as long as he has a comfy blanket, his plush bed, and some white noise as long as his people don’t leave him for too long.

Tyson is a goofy, loving boy who brings endless joy and laughter. He’s looking for a home where he can be part of everyday life, whether that means playtime, snuggles, or simply being by your side. He promises to be the best and most loyal companion one can find!  He would do wonderful with dog-savvy children, another furry playful playmate, and a home where he can be doted on like the prince he is!  His daily medical requirements to administer his eyedrops and to keep his allergies managed require a few minutes extra every day but the love and joy he brings makes it sooo worth it!  Be ready for fun, a permanent shadow, and unconditional adoration from this sweet boy.  If you’re ready for an affectionate, fun-loving companion, Tyson is your guy!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Tyson, please submit an adoption application for him today!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
