Tina’s Story
Tina came to the SNAFU Rescue via a Midwest Shelter. Her previous owners dropped her off as they developed allergies to her and wanted her placed in a loving home to live the rest of her life as a cherished pet.
Tina is a sweet, silly, laid-back, social, lighthearted, chill Pug who loves being able to snuggle her people. You can often find Tina no more than just a few steps away from her beloved humans. Her overall outgoing personality desires pets, love, and constant attention from anyone willing to offer it! Tina has yet to meet a stranger (big or small)! This little sweetheart of a Pug relishes her time with her humans and will participate in anything they are doing. Her favorite pastime is grabbing a comfy spot on the couch and snuggling with one of the many humans in her foster home. After a little snooze, Tina requests some outdoor time in the yard or even better, a perfect Pug suited walk around the neighborhood. She enjoys a daily stroll around the block to show off her perfected leash skills; this little lady will let you know once she is done exercising! After exhausting herself walking… Tina will once again find an open lap to lay on and curl up for yet another little nap. She really is an overall content girl that goes with the flow, shadows her humans like it is her job, and can make those that love her most giggle throughout the day. Tina currently lives with a large furry foster sibling. She can fit right into a pack and loves big and small dogs alike. Tina is experiencing a big transition and will need proper leadership and guidance to know what is expected in her adoptive home. She is smart, a fast learner, and is motivated so we know Tina will be quick to adapt to yet another new home with the proper leadership! Tina seems to get along well with every human (big or small) as she is happiest when she is around her people. She is very gentle with the littles and offers lots of love. Her very favorite daily activity is hopping into the car every morning and afternoon to take the littles to/from school. Tina really enjoys being part of the daily routine in her foster home especially when it comes to the kids. She joins in and offers bedtime snuggles while the children read their bedtime stories. Her foster family believes she would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children of any age and a home with other balanced, relaxed furry members or equally as good as an only pet. As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs and supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both she and they are kept safe.
Tina is doing extremely well with potty training and is 100% trained with ZERO reported accidents!! As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to offer her a consistent schedule and possibly work with her on a signal for potty. Currently, Tina will sit by the door when she needs to go outside. Tina is crate trained, and has not had any accidents but is not a huge overall fan of her crate. She doesn’t like when she can hear her people out and about while leaving the home and will whine and cry for a bit but settles down quickly. When her family happens to be away from the home, she is safely secure in her crate. We know since Tina loves to cuddle and snuggle her people, that she would love to share a bed with her adoptive family. For her safety, we recommend a similar schedule is kept for her when her people are away from the home and at night as she doesn’t know danger.
Medically, Tina seems to be in good health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, had a dental, microchipped, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Tina does require daily drops for dry eye; she will need these inexpensive OTC drops in perpetuity.
Tina would do great in a single-family home or an apartment as long as she has access to a fenced-in yard. She has taken a bit of time to be comfortable with a small number of stairs so a multiple-floor style dwelling home would be ok for her as long as a pair of loving arms are available when she needs them. She has mastered the stairs in her foster home but expect some hesitancy at first. A home with a fenced-in yard/area would be ideal for Tina as she does love to wander and explore her surroundings. Tina just wants to be anywhere and everywhere her people are and would love a mom/dad that will allow morning cuddles, short walks, couch time, nap time and cuddle time. She just really loves all people that will offer her attention. We think she would love to go to the office with her new family! She can be a tad loud with her snores (like most pugs) but is very happy to be near her humans and would relax in a comfy bed as the work hours pass. You can’t take her to the office- that’s okay; she would love a part-time or full-time work-from-home or stay-at-home family member. More family members the better to dote all over her! TIna wants to be part of all the family goings-on! Truly, Tina is just looking for a family who will love and care for her and wants a shadow following them around 24/7. She is a sweet, silly girl who has nothing but love for her people!

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
