Tiffany’s Story
Tiffany was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue as she was being rehomed to no fault of her own. Her surrendering family wanted her to be placed in a loving home to be spoiled and live out her life as happily as she can be!
Tiffany is the perfect balance of active and laidback. She adores walks, car rides, and couch time (equally). Tiffany has yet to meet a stranger and admires all humans she meets (especially if they are willing to offer her some affection). She is an ABSOLUTE cuddle monster! There is nothing more in this world that she wants…cuddle, snuggle, cuddle, snuggle (wash rinse repeat). If no one is available to share the couch with her she is VERY content claiming the comfy surface as her own and napping away! When nap time is over you can find Tiffany searching for a plush toy with a fresh squeaker in it ultimately to destroy! She gets her little paws around the toy and she is determined to shred it to pieces!
She is curious about the outdoors and will absolutely explore every inch of the yard being sure she is on guard to keep all furry creatures out of her domain! Tiffany’s happy place is outside showing off her leash skills on a perfectly suited walk but the colder conditions have halted her dreams and she will settle for a fun car ride instead. Tiffany is social with all people (big or small). She prefers to be the princess of her palace and will not accept any other furry creatures sharing her space. Tiffany has a high prey drive as she is not a fan of cats, birds, hamsters, etc. Despite her distaste for other furry creatures she really is a kind, sweet and low-maintenance Frenchie.
Tiffany has a kind and gentle temperament but can be overly curious with the littles and their little toys and because of this, we feel she would do best in a home that had children 10 years or older. Slow introductions and supervision around children are a must to be sure they and she are kept safe. Tiffany has a history of being a little troublemaker when around other dogs so she must be adopted and remain the only dog/animal in the home, although she is really laid back in general she still requires a family willing to provide her proper boundaries and provide the proper leadership she needs.
Tiffany’s foster family happily reports she is fully potty trained. A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home. Tiffany will indicate she needs to go by waiting at the door to the backyard. She is 100% crate trained and often retreats to her safe space for a nap when feeling sleepy. For her safety, we recommend that she maintains a similar schedule when her adoptive family leaves the home. Since Tiffany is such a HUGE cuddle bug we know she would love to share a human bed at night with her adoptive family.
Medically, Tiffany seems to be in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, and heartworm tested, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Tiffany does suffer from those pesky allergies and must remain on a specific protein diet to keep them at bay. She will also benefit from a daily allergy pill and cytopoint when the allergy season is high. Tiffany is on daily anti-anxiety medication (she must remain on) in addition to thyroid medication (her levels should be checked every 6mo).
disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
