Teek’s Story

Teek came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.

Teek is an active, playful, bouncy, extremely curious, social, and super-friendly French Bulldog.  He is a little powerhouse of energy and affection.  Teek is a spirited little guy who has a love for playtime.  You can find him chasing after squeaky toys or engaging in an intense tug-of-war; he really loves a good play session!  Don’t let his size fool you; this petite pooch is a master of zoomies and has a boundless reserve of energy.  But when his playtime frenzy subsides, he seamlessly transitions into a world-class snuggle champion.  There is nothing Teek loves more than curling up on a soft blanket, preferably next to a beloved human for some quality cuddle time.  This curious boy enjoys romping around the house and exploring every inch of his surroundings.  Teek must be supervised at all times while outside and inside as he is a young dog still learning the ropes of pet life and doesn’t know danger.  He is an excellent dog hanging all by himself.  Unlike some dogs who may feel lonely when alone, Teek is totally chill.  Whether he is taking a nap or playing with his favorite toy, he is relaxed and content when he’s on his own. Teek proves he is the pawfect dog for both socializing and enjoying some quiet time. He is an all-around awesome dog and loves to hang out with his furry friends- getting along famously with each of them.   He would thrive in a home with another dog so that he could emulate their behaviors and continue to show him the ropes of pet life. Teek has an overall fun disposition which allows him to get along with his furry foster siblings.  He has a very kind temperament which is favorable when he is around other dogs although he can be an attention hog especially when it comes to human attention; this behavior needs to be corrected when present. He has yet to meet any human, big or small, that he hasn’t fallen head over paws for.  Teek is off flirting his way into their hearts.  Because of his lighthearted disposition, we feel he will do perfectly well with other balanced dogs and with dog-savvy, gentle, respectful children 6 years or older.  We also feel Teek would thrive in a multi-dog household as he emulates other dog behaviors and picks up quickly on what is expected in the home and proper dog manners but would equally be okay as only a pet as he would enjoy all the attention just on him.  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and he should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Teek is still working on potty training and his accidents are becoming fewer and further between; his foster family reports his about 80% potty trained. He does copy the resident dog’s outside habits and has made great improvements!  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on his potty training success as he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. Teek needs a consistent outside routine and a signal for potty.  He is 100% crate-trained and does not have any accidents while crated.  He sleeps in his crate when his foster family happens to be away from the home as he has a comfy blanket and a furry friend to keep him company.  Teek sleeps in his crate in the evening but since this snuggle bug doesn’t like to be far from his humans and is a pawfect cuddler, we know he would much rather share a bed and offer many cuddles with his new family!

Medically, Teek is in great health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, had both hind legs luxating patellas successfully repaired, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Teek would do great in any type of home!  Since he does love to explore the yard and is still learning what can be a danger to him, a house with a completely closed fenced yard will be preferred for him (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling).  He has mastered the stairs, so a multi-level home would be okay for him.  Since Teek is quite a people’s French Bulldog, we think he would love to eventually go to work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office.  He needs some basic training (and to be fully potty trained too) before entering the workspace but with some consistent work, he would do just fine!  If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem at all – he’s completely happy sleeping the day away and would greatly benefit from a part-time work-from-home or stay-at-home parent.  During his time alone he would do great as long as he has a furry companion, a warm soft blanket, a safe chew toy, and if his people can arrange for a potty break for him (if gone for more than just a few hours)!  Teek is a little snuggle bug looking for a home that has a family to dote on him, one he can be included in most family outdoor activities, and can offer him lots of love and attention (and patience to master potty training). He is looking for his very best friend to share his sweet smile and loving personality with.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Teek, please submit an adoption application for him.

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
