Taylor’s Story

Taylor came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Taylor (or Tay Tay as she is affectionately called) is an active, lively little puppy! She is goofy, happy, playful, and 100% puppy ALL the time! She is an adorably happy loving girl. She wants to run, wrestle, play, and cuddle with every dog that will let her. The other dogs in her adoptive home must be prepared for an immediate new best friend. Taylor is overly social and has yet to meet any human or dog (big or small) that hasn’t fallen head over paws for her! Tay is all play all the time; she is ALL gas and no brakes! She loves to take her playtime outdoors but is okay settling indoors with her favorite toy (all toys are her favorite toys) or with a beloved Nylabone. Once one of her furry foster friends raises their paw and indicates “WrestleMania” is on, Tay Tay is the first one in the ring! This playful girl will attempt to engage any dog in her fun and if she can’t get them to play, she’ll move on to her beloved humans. Big or small she loves them all! In true Boston Terrier fashion, she does have a chill side and will peacefully nap next to her humans when she is completely spent! She follows her foster family around and truly believes she is the best helper when it comes to most household chores; don’t let her tell you any different! Her foster family has been working with her on what is okay and not okay to chew and with proper direction she has proven to be a quick study. She is still learning how to play gently, how to share her prized possessions, and overall dog manners. As any puppy, she should always be closely supervised and have a couple of nylabones/chew toys available to redirect her to what is an appropriate chew item. Taylor’s foster family feels she would thrive in a home with other dogs, probably more so with easygoing, friendly dogs that have the patience and an abundant amount of energy level to match her. Taylor is cat-savvy as long as the cat is dog-savvy! Since he loves wrestling and roughhousing with other dogs during playtime, she would also need other dogs that wouldn’t mind a young dog around that loves to play and still has that puppy energy! Taylor is a complete people person! She has yet to meet a human she hasn’t demanded attention from, greeted with a cute little bark, and wanted to receive some love and pets from. She falls head over paws for any and all human attention! Given her overzealous temperament and overall wild disposition, we feel she would be pawfect in a home with children 5 years or older as long as they are calm, gentle, and dog savvy. As always, Taylor should always be supervised when she meets children and other dogs to make sure she and they are kept safe.

Her adoptive family will need to be patient, willing, and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty-training success.  Taylor is working on crate training (she eats her meals and her crate and will seek it out for a nap.) Since Taylor is a master snuggler, we know she would love to share her human bed at night.  For her safety, we recommend a similar arrangement when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised, so she is safe and secure while no one is at home. Taylor does not know danger and is still learning how to be a pet.

Medically, Taylor is in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian.

Taylor loves to explore outside and is quickly catching on to leash manners! Taylor would love a home with a big backyard or land to explore with her humans in tow! Taylor would do well in any type of home. She’s becoming a master of stairs! We also feel that Taylor would be a good pet for a multiple-floor apartment-style home as she is typically a quiet dog (unless she is demanding pets, but her bark is even quiet.)  Work from home or a stay-at-home parent? Taylor would absolutely love that!  She also would be a great candidate to take to the office (once she has perfected potty training).  She is looking for a patient family to call her very own, one that is willing to work with her to learn how to “pet”, one with an overall calm, quiet lifestyle, and one that is home often to offer her unlimited snuggles. Taylor loves nothing more than to be included in any and all human activities; she is a great ride-along companion!  Be ready for the needs and requirements of a young dog; she will make it worth it!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
