Stewart’s Story
Stewart came into the SNAFU Rescue via a Private Party. His owner wanted him to be placed in a loving home that had the time an energy needed for a young puppy.
Meet Stewart – the adventure-loving, people-adoring, and squeaky-toy-obsessed French Bulldog puppy!
Stewart is the kind of pup who turns heads and wins hearts everywhere he goes. Social, curious, and full of personality, Stewart thrives on human connection and loves being involved in whatever his people are doing—whether it’s hopping in the car for a ride, “helping” with some gardening, or keeping you company in the office with his signature chill vibe.
While Stewart is up for just about any adventure, he can be a little timid in brand-new settings. But don’t worry—his growing confidence allows him to warm up quickly with gentle encouragement and a bit of time. Once he’s comfortable, his confidence shines, and he’ll happily zoom around the yard, squeak his favorite toy with glee, or settle in for some well-earned cuddles.
Stewart adores people—grown-ups and kids alike—and enjoys soaking up all the love and attention. Because he still has plenty of puppy energy and loves to romp, we think children 6 and up will be the best match for his playful nature. He’s great about reading the room and knows when to wind down, making him a surprisingly great work-from-home buddy.
While Stewart gets along just fine with other dogs in general, he really prefers to be the only pup in the house. His ideal setup is one where he can soak up all the love and not have to share his favorite person—he’s been known to get a little protective when another dog comes too close to his beloved human. If startled or caught off guard by another dog, Stewart may bark or charge to assert himself, especially if his person is nearby. For this reason, Stewart is best suited to a home without other dogs or one with very careful management and experienced dog-savvy adopters. He’s not aggressive by nature—just a little insecure when it comes to sharing the spotlight.
Stewart is also a bit of a light sleeper and may startle when woken abruptly, but a calm word from his human is usually all it takes to help him settle right back down. With patience, reassurance, and a stable routine, we expect these moments to become less frequent as he adjusts to his forever home.
Stewart’s perfect match will be someone who understands the needs of a young, emotionally sensitive dog—a person or family ready to provide consistent guidance, positive reinforcement, and lots of one-on-one attention. He’s playful, goofy, incredibly loyal, and always ready for life’s next little adventure—especially if it involves his favorite humans.
If you’re looking for a charming, people-loving Frenchie with a big heart, playful spirit, and a bit of that classic bulldog stubbornness—Stewart might just be your perfect companion.
Stewart is making fantastic progress with his potty training—and he’s proving to be one smart little pup!
He’s already figured out how to go stand patiently by the door when he needs to go out and is also trained to use a doggy door to take himself outside. With a consistent routine and structure, Stewart is well on his way to being fully potty trained. He picks up on patterns quickly and follows the lead of his foster siblings like a pro.
Stewart is also crate trained and does very well in his crate. He keeps it clean and dry and even chooses to nap in there on his own when the door is left open. While he may bark a bit if his human is home and he can’t see them, he settles down quickly and understands that his crate is a safe, cozy space. He’s doing especially well sleeping in his crate at night or resting there when his foster family is away.
This cuddly guy has also had many chances to nap on the couch with his foster family—and he’s a total dream. Stewart snuggles right in and sleeps without a peep. He truly loves being close to his people and would be thrilled to curl up next to his forever humans at bedtime.
For Stewart to continue thriving, we recommend that his adoptive home provide a consistent potty routine and a similar crate/sleep setup as he transitions. With some gentle guidance, a lot of love, and a warm bed to call his own, Stewart will continue to blossom into the happy, well-adjusted pup he’s meant to be.
Medically, Stewart seems to be in great health. He has been neutered, nares widened, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, and has been given the okay for adoption by our veterinarian!
Stewart is the total package—smart, sweet, and ready to be your loyal sidekick for whatever life brings.
While he’d thrive in just about any type of home, Stewart would especially enjoy having a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore, stretch his legs, and get in a few zoomies. That said, a fence isn’t a dealbreaker—what matters most to Stewart is being close to his people. If you’re the type who loves a shadow, Stewart will gladly be it! If there is not a fenced-in area; Stewart must be secured with a leash and harness at all times for his ongoing safety. He is just a puppy and will push boundaries if allowed.
Stewart has mastered going up and down stairs and has proven himself to be adaptable and confident navigating different parts of the home. He’s not a frequent barker and generally keeps things quiet, only vocalizing when he’s startled or if he’s crated and can hear you nearby. That makes him a great fit for a freestanding house, apartment, or townhome—he won’t be causing any noise complaints!
This people-oriented pup is happiest when he’s part of the action. Stewart would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time—whether that’s a remote worker, a stay-at-home parent, or someone with a dog-friendly office. He loves car rides and would make an excellent office companion. Once there, he’ll happily nap on his dog bed by your desk, greet visitors with a wag, and follow you from meeting to meeting like the dedicated assistant he is.
Stewart tends to choose a favorite person, but he gets along wonderfully with all adults and has done great with respectful kids. He would thrive in a single-person household or a bustling family—he’s flexible like that! Just be prepared for some gentle supervision at home, as he still has a little puppy mischief in him.
He’s incredibly intelligent, a fast learner, and often picks things up just by observing—sometimes after seeing something only once. Stewart is equal parts adventure buddy and chill companion. Whether you’re heading out for errands or curled up for a weekend nap, he’s game for whatever you’ve got planned.
If you’re looking for a friendly, social, and easygoing companion who’s as happy going on an outing as he is lounging on the couch, Stewart could be your perfect match. He’s ready to bring a whole lot of love—and maybe a squeaky toy or two—into your life.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
