Santos’s Story

Santos came into the SNAFU Rescue via a private party. His owner wanted him to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.

Santos is an adorable, playful, and affectionate 7-month-old French Bulldog puppy bursting with personality and charm! With his puppy energy, big heart, and curious nature, Santos is sure to bring laughter and love to the lucky family who adopts him.

As a typical puppy, Santos is full of zoomies, playtime, and adventure — he loves romping around the house or yard, playing fetch, chasing after his canine foster siblings (both big and small), and happily chewing on yak chews or his favorite toys. He’s especially skilled at sneaking away with any stray toy, sock, or shoe left within reach — so his forever family should be ready for a little playful mischief and keep valuables out of puppy range!

Santos is a confident, spirited little guy who lights up every room he enters. He absolutely adores people and rarely meets a stranger — from the moment you greet him, you’re likely to be welcomed with a wiggle butt, puppy kisses, and that irresistible Frenchie charm. With other dogs, Santos is an enthusiastic and joyful playmate, ready to romp, wrestle, and chase to his heart’s content. He’s endlessly curious and loves to be in the middle of the action, always eager to join in on games or tag along with his humans for whatever adventure comes next.

After a good dose of play and exploration, Santos transforms into the ultimate cuddle companion. Whether it’s curling up at your feet, snuggling into your lap, or nestling beside you on the couch, he’s happiest when he’s close to his people, soaking up love and affection. His affectionate nature and joyful spirit make him a truly special pup to have around — one who fills every moment with laughter, warmth, and puppy sweetness.

Santos is still very much in the learning phase — he’s working on his potty training, learning house manners, and discovering what’s okay to chew (and what’s not!). His adoptive family should be ready to provide patient guidance, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement to help shape him into a well-mannered adult dog. Puppy-proofing the home, supervising his adventures, and offering lots of appropriate chew toys will go a long way!

Because of his outgoing, playful nature, Santos would thrive in a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help show him the ropes. He’d also do well in a family with children, as long as everyone understands that puppies need gentle handling and supervision to keep both the dog and kids safe.

If you’re looking for a lovable, happy, playful pup who will grow into your best friend, Santos is ready to steal your heart (and maybe your socks). With the right mix of structure, play, and love, Santos is sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion.

Medically, Santos is in great health. He has been neutered, updated on vaccinations and dewormings, microchipped, and cleared for adoption by the veterinarian.

Santos is still mastering potty training but is making excellent progress with a consistent schedule and positive reinforcement. Again, he is a smart young dog and quickly picks up on things, mimics his foster sibling’s behavior, and adapts well to routines. Santos is still a young dog and as with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with him, offering him a consistent schedule and working with him on a signal for potty/going outside. Santos is crate-trained and remains accident-free in his crate.  He will go in with a treat and a toy and does well in his crate when his foster family happens to be away from the home. Santos will often retreat to his safe space as well.  He is such a snuggle bug and he must be as close as possible to those he loves the most and for that reason, we know Santos will insist on sharing a human bed at night! Santos is a great sleeper and is content to nap the day away as long as he knows he’s in a safe and comfortable place. For his safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule be kept for him.

Santos would thrive in a home with another playful dog to help him build confidence and burn off his puppy energy. While he’s adaptable, he’d do best in a home with a yard where he can run and explore safely, rather than a multiple-floor apartment without outdoor access. A ground-floor apartment setting would be okay for him as he is an overall quiet dog as long as there was an adjacent fenced-in area for him.  A fully fenced-in yard would be best for Santos as he is a young dog learning boundaries and commands and for his ongoing safety but not required.  He will run if not properly secured with a leash and harness; as any puppy would!  A home with stairs would be okay; he has mastered a few stairs and with time and encouragement he will be able to conquer larger staircases.  Given his sweet personality, Santos would do well in a home with dog-savvy children who understand how to interact gently with a puppy. He would also benefit from a family that isn’t gone for long hours during the day, as he still needs potty breaks and attention. Santos would love to enjoy an office setting if allowed to accompany his adoptive family to their workplace knowing he is still mischievous puppy phase!  Otherwise, a part-time work-from-home or stay-at-home family member would be amazing for this little guy!

Ultimately, Santos is looking for a loving home that will provide him with the care, patience, and companionship he needs to grow into a confident and well-rounded adult dog. With his playful energy, cuddly nature, and love for his people, Santos is sure to fill his forever home with endless joy and affection.

If you think Santos could be the perfect addition to your family, don’t wait—submit an application for this sweet boy today! He’s ready to share his cuddles, playfulness, and heartwarming personality with his forever family.

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
