Robin’s Story
Robin came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.
Robin is an active, playful, social, outgoing, busy, energetic, and friendly Frenchie boy. He is all gas and no brakes! He rarely takes a moment to trot away from his toys, following his humans or trying to instigate the resident furry crew. He enjoys romping around the house and exploring every inch of his surroundings. Robin is such a ball of energy and enjoys being in the mix of all the house happenings; he has a major case of FOMO. He will occasionally rest for a quick nap in a comfy spot but will pop up the minute he thinks someone (or another dog) will engage him in play. Robin loves playtime… perhaps that statement is the understatement of 2024. He has yet to meet a ball that he doesn’t love and will beg for a fun game of fetch! When he has exhausted all his energy, Robin will find a comfy spot on the couch, at times grabbing a yummy bone to nibble on, or a Kong full of treats to enjoy and relax with his foster family. Yes, Robin is super energetic but he does have a chill side and CAN relax when his foster family chooses to relax themselves. Even though his adoration for bouncy balls is real, he will not discriminate against any toys that can easily fly through the air to chase and fetch. Robin does enjoy walks however his leash and social skills need some fine-tuning. He does enjoy his time outdoors. Robin will explore, sniff, and have a general curiosity about his surroundings. Robin loves all dogs of all kinds, sizes, and genders. He is working on his social skills and manners as he is unable to pick up on the social cues of other dogs and will sniff away and not give the space some dogs require. Robin will continue to egg on any dog that he wants to get to play with. He needs a firm leader, and consistent correction to guide him to learn proper dog manners. His overall kind disposition allows him to get along with all humans, big or small. Robin met several children at a local pet store and relished in all the attention he received. When children are around, that means more little hands to pay him unlimited amounts of pets, scratchies, and attention. Although he does well with kids of any age, he is a big goofy ball of energy and he may be a bit much for little little children and is best suited for gentle, dog-savvy children 5 years and older. He has a very playful temperament which is favorable when he is around other playful dogs however since Robin is still learning social cues a more passive, balanced, and playful dog would be better suited for him. A playful pal is a MUST in his adoptive home; Robin would not thrive in a single-dog environment. Slow introductions to other dogs (is a must) and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.
Robin is still working on potty training. He is making fast progress with a consistent schedule and does emulate the outside behaviors of the resident crew. Yay, Robin, you’re almost there! As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to establish a consistent outside schedule so he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. Robin seeks encouragement when doing his business and likes his humans to hang out with him. He is 100% crate trained and will “kennel” for a treat! He sleeps quietly and comfortably in his crate at night but since we know this sweet boy is a cuddle monster, we know he would love to share a bed and offer many cuddles with his new family (once he is fully potty trained)!
Medically, Robin is in great health! He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, nares widened, had a dental, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Robin would do great in any type of home since he is a champ at going up and down the stairs! Since he does love to explore the yard, has a ton of energy to expel, loves a good game of fetch, and is still working on potty training, a house with a completely closed fenced yard will be preferred for him (as opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling) for his ongoing safety. We think he would love to go to work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office. He loves car rides, travels well, and is great with all people. If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem at all – he’s completely happy sleeping just a few hours during the day as long as he has a warm soft blanket, a safe chew toy, and a furry friend. A part-time or full-time stay-at-home or work-from-home family member would be ideal for Robin! As mentioned, he does have a major case of FOMO and prefers to be around his humans as much as possible. Robin is a little snuggle bug (with his people and his furry friends) and is looking for a home that can dote on him, can be included in most (really all) family activities, can offer him tons of exercise/enrichment/playtime and lots of love and attention. He is just the sweetest, eager to please, ball of energy you can find! Robin is quite the dream dog as long as you are looking for a playful pup (that needs a playful companion) who is willing to dedicate time to help him be 100% successful at potty training. Robin would be a great addition to a loving family.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
