Randi’s Story
Randi came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Randi is a sweet, calm, and loving Boston Terrier girl who is ready to find her perfect family! This charming pup has a gentle demeanor and a heart full of love to give. At first, Randi might be a little timid as she takes in her surroundings, but once she feels safe and secure, her personality truly shines. She thrives in a warm, welcoming environment where she can observe her family’s activities or join in on the fun from a cozy spot on the couch.
Randi is learning the joys of playtime and figuring out what toys are all about. While she hasn’t quite mastered playing with toys just yet, she’s making progress and absolutely adores chewing on bones. Her favorite pastime is basking in the sun or curling up for long, peaceful naps on the couch or in her dog bed, often near her foster mom while she works.
Randi has a special bond with the children in her foster home, ranging from 1 to 20 years old. She loves to cuddle up with them, is always curious about what they’re doing, and is eager to be part of their world. She checks in on them regularly, offering her quiet, loving companionship. Her preference is to cuddle up with the children versus anyone else! Randi’s affection and gentle nature make her an ideal companion for a home with children who have good pet manners. Slow introductions and supervision around children are a must to be sure they and she are kept safe.
In her foster home, Randi has proven to be a social pup who gets along beautifully with her doggy siblings—a playful 2-year-old pug and a wise 11-year-old Boston Terrier. She enjoys wandering around the yard, exploring her surroundings with a curious nose and calm energy. While Randi would do well as an only dog if her human is home most of the day, she would thrive in a home with other friendly dogs or children who can give her the extra confidence to blossom.
Randi’s happy place is simply being with her family, whether that means snuggling up for some quiet time or being nearby to soak up the love and attention. She’s looking for a family that will be patient as she continues to grow and learn about her new life.
If you’re searching for a calm, cuddly companion who is as sweet as can be, Randi might just be the perfect addition to your home! She is experiencing a BIG change, however, and needs a patient family that will offer her the proper guidance she needs to be successful.
Randi’s foster family happily reports she is 99.9% potty trained. A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home. Randi is fully crate trained although she doesn’t prefer her crate. She will peacefully nap in her crate when her foster family is not home if offered a yummy snack before entering. She much prefers the comfort of the couch versus her crate. Randi can be trusted in a small dog-safe space when unsupervised. For her safety, we recommend a similar crating schedule/safe place for her when her family happens to be away from the home as she does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home. Randi would love to share a bed at night with her adoptive family. She loves to cuddle and having the comfort of her family nearby would be the icing on the cake!
Medically, Randi seems to be in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, and heartworm tested, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Randi would be happiest in a house with a fenced yard (as opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard) because she loves to wander the yard exploring every inch, gander at a passerby (quietly of course), and take in all the smells! Randi also likes to bask in the sunshine and sun her cute little Boston buns! Although a fully fenced-in yard is not required, it is preferred for her enjoyment and ongoing safety. A share-walled environment would not be ideal as random noises and abrupt sounds in the share-areas would make her nervous. She has mastered the stairs so a home with stairs would be okay for this sweet girl. We don’t think Randi is ready for an office environment however, she would much rather have a part-time or full-time work-from-home or stay-at-home parent. Again, she is an overall chill girl! She loves to nibble on a bone, pal around with her furry friends, prance around the yard, and explore and investigate what her people might be doing. Randi is as sweet as can be, a total snuggle bug that loves to relax on the couch tuning into her favorite shows. She will smother those she loves most! A family with kids would be great for her but is not required. She is looking for a low-key family/person that is home more than they are gone, a home with a furry friend she can emulate that can offer her patience, tons of love, and attention! If you are looking for a loyal friend that you want to call your own, Randi is your girl! She would be a loyal best friend offering much love and companionship.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
