Pippa’s Story
Pippa came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Pippa is a sweet, funny, friendly, playful yet laid-back Frenchie girl who is an absolute love bug! She can be extremely playful but also has quite the chill side. This exuberant girl is very social with a fondness for nap time. Pippa is quick to warm up to new people (big, small, and furry) and can easily make new friends by flirting her way into their hearts and laps. She absolutely adores receiving attention, and receiving extra attention from the resident young children. Pippa adores toys, especially those that squeak as she will take it upon herself to gallop around the house squeaking away! After a good romp around the house shaking her plush toy, you can find Pippa searching for her beloved Nylabone and settling in for a quiet chew session. After she tires of her bone, she will take a long snooze in her comfy bed when the household is quiet and settled. Make one movement… Pippa is quick to jump up and follow around her favorite humans or her furry friends. She thinks her furry companions are her wrestling buddies and will never turn down time in the ring (very gently wrestling is what she orders!). If there is a game of tug-of-war on the menu she will most certainly order it. She definitely does not want to miss out on anything; a major case of FOMO. She MUST be everywhere with her humans and her furry friends. Pippa is a typical adorable Frenchie girl… every day is play, play, nap, play, play, nap; wash-rinse-repeat! She worships all known humans, pretty much anyone, person or pup she can convince to provide her with enjoyment, attention, and yummy treats.. She is well-behaved, respectful around humans and other dogs. She will need a patient and understanding family to help guide her into proper dog behaviors, offer her much-needed stimulation to release all her energy, learn commands and what is expected of her in the home. We feel she would do best in a home with children of any age who are calm, respectful, gentle and dog savvy. In addition, we feel Pippa would thrive in a home with a well-balanced furry friend to romp around with and show her the ropes of pet life as she mimics all dog behaviors. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both she and they are kept safe.
Pippa is still working on potty training. It is a work in progress however her foster family happily reports she is doing GREAT and she is 98% there!! She has been consistently going potty outside and her accidents are VERY few and far between. A regular and consistent schedule will help with continued potty training in her new home. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with her. She would benefit from a signal for potty. She is completely crate trained and sleeps quietly without any accidents in her crate when her foster family happens to be away from the home as long as she has several comfy blankets to snuggle up and nest in. Since Pippa loves to snuggle so much, we know she would love a human bed to share in her adoptive home,
Medically, Pippa is in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/deworming, heartworm tested, had a dental with extractions, microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Pippa would do well in almost any type of home but since she is still perfecting potty training, still mastering her leash skills, has an affinity to run and play so a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her. She mastered going up and down stairs, so a multi-level home would be okay for her. Pippa is truly a pack animal and needs the love and attention from a family with another furry member to play with! A bonus for her would be if she was welcomed into a family with several members to offer her lots of cuddles and pets! The more people who offer her love and lots of attention the happier Pippa is! Once she has perfected potty training, she would love to go to work with her new family if they wanted to take her to the office knowing she would be the office greeting committee and flirt her way into the hearts of all the employees. If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem! She is completely happy sleeping the part of the day away in her crate as long as she has a furry brother or sister to keep her company AND if her new family can arrange a potty break for her midday throughout the day! Ideally Pippa would love a part-time or full-time stay-at-home or work-from-home family member as she thrives when her people are near.
Pippa is a very smart, well-balanced dog that has very playful and active moments. She is the sweetest girl that prefers warm spots and being fed an unlimited amount of healthy snacks! Pippa is still learning manners but with proper guidance she will quickly adapt to a structured environment. She is a gentle, kind, energetic girl that has such a sweet dispostion. If you are looking for an addition to your family that needs and wants your family’s attention, love and snuggles then Pippa just might be for you and your family!

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
