Paris’s Story

Paris came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release.  Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved, and live out her life as a cherished pet!

Paris is an enthusiastic, active, playful, social, happy, outgoing, and friendly Frenchie girl.  She firmly believes that all dogs and humans were made for her to make fast friends with! She enjoys romping around the house and exploring every inch of her surroundings.  Paris has an affinity for going “bye bye” which is an indication she gets to ride along in the car!  Most of her car ride time is spent running errands with her foster mom.  She is quick to fall asleep in her car seat and be chauffeured around like the princess she is. Paris is all about playtime!  She bounces about when she has a burst of energy and is quick to run all around the yard chasing her foster siblings in hopes one is ready to play! Paris adores all toys during playtime.  There is not a toy too big or too small that won’t mesmerize her for any period of time. Paris loves to play with anything that will squeak or crinkle.  When she decides playtime is over she is ready for a nap.  Paris sure does enjoy a nice long snooze.  She will grab any soft bed or blanket when she needs a nap but much prefers a human lap!  Paris definitely is a big lap dog; she could lay all snuggled up for hours on end.  Once nap time is over, Paris once again finds her energy and is off to the races!  If her furry playmate isn’t available, she is content to grab her favorite nylabone and nibble away.  She has a major case of FOMO and MUST be involved in all the happenings of the house especially those of her favorite human. Her overall fun, happy disposition allows her to get along famously with her furry foster siblings.  She has a very lovable and docile temperament which is favorable when she is around other dogs.  Paris seems to get along with any dog she has met (both male and female) and would thrive with several furry pals to hang around with; she truly is a pack dog!  Paris does gravitate towards dogs her size or smaller and although she gets along well with larger dogs she much prefers to play and engage with dogs closer to her size.  She has yet to meet any human that she hasn’t fallen head over paws for.  Because of her lighthearted disposition, we feel she will do perfectly well with other dogs and with dog-savvy, gentle, respectful children of any age.  We also feel Paris would thrive in a multi-dog household as she emulates other dog behaviors and picks up quickly on what is expected in the home and proper dog manners. If she has her favorite person and an abundance of toys Paris also could do well as an only dog.  She is also cat friendly.  Paris has some stranger danger and will let out a loud bark when she is startled or when someone new comes to the door.  She is experiencing a big change and will need some patience and proper direction to help her acclimate to her adoptive home. Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both she and they are kept safe.

Paris is still working on potty training.  Her accidents are becoming fewer and further between and is nearly fully trained! As with all of our dogs, any adopter must be patient and willing to continue working on her potty training success as she acclimates to her new home and surroundings. Paris needs a consistent outside routine and a signal for potty.  She is 100% crate trained and does not have any accidents in her crate.  She sleeps quietly when her foster family happens to be away from the home and rests her little head on a comfy blanket.  Paris is also trusted for shorter periods in a dog-safe space and is content with a safe chew toy while her foster family is briefly away from the home.  She currently sleeps in a crate in the evening and is okay doing so but we know Paris would enjoy to share a bed with her adoptive family at night as this little cuddle bug finds comfort in those she trusts and loves most.

Medically, Paris is in good health!  She has been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian!  Paris requires a little extra maintenance; her wrinkles, tail pocket, and ears need to be cleaned often to avoid any issues.

Paris would do great in any type of home! She has mastered the stairs so a multi-level home would be okay for her.  Even though Paris does not have a prey drive and will not try to run, a fenced yard isn’t required for her but is always preferred for her ongoing safety and desire to run around with her furry friends.  A shared-walled living situation is not ideal for Paris as she has a loud bark and could disturb the neighbors when she decides to voice her concerns.  Paris is quite a people’s Frenchie; we think she would love to go to work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office.  She needs to get over barking at new people but once that is solved, we feel she would do just fine!  If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem at all – she would much rather have a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member. Paris would thrive in a quieter home where all her family members would be involved in her everyday care. She is an overall happy, playful soul that thrives with a routine and has adapted to pet life quickly!  She is very eager to please and just wants to be around her family at all times!  This little shoe thief is such a gem.  Paris loves hard and is an overall sweet-natured girl!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
