Moolah’s Story

Moolah came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.

Meet Moolah—affectionately known as Moo—an adorable pint-sized pug puppy with a BIG personality and even bigger zoomies! Moo is living the ultimate puppy life and has exactly three priorities in life: playing, eating, and sleeping… in that order (and repeat)!

Moolah has two speeds: 100mph and completely passed out. This tiny tornado zips around the house, pouncing on anything that squeaks, rolls, or crinkles. His signature move? The Pug Pounce—a full-body leap aimed directly at any toy, bone, or unsuspecting Labrador foster sibling. Moo may be little, but in his mind, he’s a heavyweight champion in both the wrestling ring and the tug-of-war Olympics. 🏆

When he’s not busy chasing toys or stealing socks (yes, he thinks stray socks are fair game), you’ll catch Moo mastering the art of keep-away. He has a special talent for snagging things he probably shouldn’t have… then sprinting off with a mischievous sparkle in his eye, daring you to catch him. Spoiler alert: you probably won’t.

Moo loves the great outdoors, especially when it means running laps around the yard with his doggy friends. After a full sprint session, he happily crashes on a cozy bed—or better yet, on top of his humans or fellow pups—for a well-earned snuggle nap. This little velcro baby adores being close to his people and finds comfort in being the center of attention (which, let’s face it, he totally deserves).

Moolah is incredibly social with other dogs, big and small, and absolutely thrives in the company of canine friends. His favorite toy is…well, his furry foster sibling! He loves climbing on them, nibbling their ears, and pestering them into play. Moo is still learning proper manners (like not using his puppy teeth as a greeting) but is picking up on cues quickly by watching and mimicking the big dogs around him.

Moo is also fabulous with kids—just keep in mind he’s still in his jumpy, nibbly puppy phase, so tiny humans need to be steady on their feet and respectful of his puppy energy. He’s a super smart little guy who’s working hard on learning his commands and house rules, but like any puppy, consistency and patience will be key. Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and he should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Because he doesn’t know danger, Moo should always be supervised—especially since this curious nugget has a knack for finding things he probably shouldn’t have. Whether it’s a dog sibling, a child, or an adult, Moolah has yet to meet anyone he doesn’t instantly love.

Moo’s perfect day? Run. Play. Eat. Snuggle. Nap. Repeat. This happy, silly, lighthearted little pug is a total heart-stealer, and whoever gets to call him family is in for a lifetime of laughs, love, and pug pounces. 💕

Like most puppies, Moolah is still working on mastering potty training, but this smart little guy is making great progress! Right now, we’d say he’s about 50-75% there. Most of his accidents come from missed cues as he’s still learning how to communicate his needs, but with a consistent routine, he’s doing better every day. As with any puppy, his forever family will need to be patient, consistent, and willing to continue helping him succeed as he adjusts to a new home and schedule.

Moolah is fully crate trained and does incredibly well when crated—he stays clean and accident-free in his crate. While he doesn’t love it (because, let’s be honest, Moo would rather be with his people 24/7), he understands it’s part of his routine. His foster family uses the phrase “go to bed” to help make it a positive experience. Moo is crated during toddler naptime, at night, and when his people are away from home to keep him safe—because this curious little guy doesn’t always know danger when he sees it!

At night, Moo gets a quick potty break around 10–11 PM, then happily snoozes accident-free in his crate until morning (around 6:15–7:15 AM). But if you ask Moo where he really wants to sleep…it’s right next to his people, curled up in bed offering maximum pug snuggles (once he is fully potty trained). 💕

Medically, Moolah is in good health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Moo has bilateral luxating patellas, which simply means his kneecaps are a little loose, a common condition in small breeds. Thankfully, they do not require surgery at this time and aren’t causing him any pain. To help keep his joints healthy, he takes a daily joint supplement and fish oil. His knees should continue to be monitored as he grows, just to stay ahead of any future issues. Additionally, Moo shows some mild signs of hip dysplasia, but as his veterinarian noted, this is fairly common in squishy-faced (brachycephalic) breeds and doesn’t affect his daily life in the slightest. Moo is currently 100% pain-free, active, playful, and living his best puppy life without any limitations!

Moolah would do best in a home with a fully fenced yard, as this little guy is a runner who loves to zip around, explore, and get his puppy energy out. A fenced yard is a must for him, not just for safety but also to support his love for outdoor playtime and zoomies. Moo is confident with stairs and navigates them just fine, but he definitely won’t turn down a lift from his favorite humans now and then! A shared-wall apartment wouldn’t be ideal, as Moo’s classic puggy voice can be a bit… vocal when he gets excited or distracted.

This little love bug would thrive in a home where someone is home more often than not to help him continue building good habits as he grows into adulthood. Another playful dog in the home would be a huge bonus for Moo—he learns best by following his furry friends and emulates their positive behaviors quickly. As the social butterfly he is, Moo would also love the chance to go to the office with his future family once he matures a bit and works on his focus (right now he’s a little too chatty and distractible for office life).

At the end of the day, Moolah is a joyful, affectionate, silly puppy who wants nothing more than to be an active part of his family’s everyday adventures—whether that’s running in the yard, joining outdoor activities, playing with a dog buddy, or snuggling up after a long day. With some patience, consistency, and lots of love, Moo will have you wrapped around his tiny little paw in no time!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Moolah, please submit an adoption application for him.

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
