Momoa’s Story

Momoa found his way into SNAFU via a breeder release. His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved, and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Momoa is an overall active, playful, extremely curious, outgoing, and super friendly French Bulldog with tons of puppy energy!  He can be bashful at times when meeting new people but seems to warm up quickly (definitely doesn’t last long). He at times can be unsure of new environments but quickly warms up to new people and places after he can properly scope it out.  Momoa is a social butterfly and enjoys prancing around when he is active.  He lights up when he sees other furry friends and is ready to dive right into playtime.  Momoa gets overly excited to wrestle his foster brothers, go for walks, and play with any toy he can get his paws on. He wakes up every morning with such a zest for life!  Even though he is ALL puppy, he does have a laid-back side. He is overly content cuddling on a bed with his furry friends tuning into his favorite show.  When the mood sparks him, Momoa will grab a toy and start to play hoping one of his furry friends will join right in.  He must be supervised at all times while outside and inside as he is a young dog putting his paws and mouth around items that are not dog-approved, still learning the ropes of pet life and doesn’t know danger.  Momoa has an affinity for the warmer outdoors and often requests time outside to take in all the smells.  Most of his outdoor time is spent on walks and even Frenchie-approved hikes. He does great with other dogs and we feel he would be a great candidate for doggy daycare for continued socialization and to get his energy out!  Momoa will always look for his people to follow all around, shadow, and cuddle. He insists on having his trusted people always in his view.  He truly just wants to be with his people all the time as he finds comfort in their presence.  Momoa would thrive in a home with another playful dog that would match his energy level and have the patience for puppy-like shenanigans.  Momoa has an overall fun disposition which allows him to get along with his furry foster siblings. He is so passive that he is willing to share all his items; food, treats, toys, etc. He does not know danger and should always be supervised as he tends to find items he is not supposed to chew on!  He has a very kind temperament which is favorable when he is around other dogs.   Momoa has yet to meet any human, big or small, that he hasn’t fallen head over paws for.  He can be shy at first, but after the brief shyness wears off (the pet world is all new to him), Momoa is off flirting his way into their hearts.  Because of his lighthearted disposition, we feel Momoa will do perfectly well with other balanced dogs and with dog-savvy, gentle, respectful children of any age.  We also feel Momoa would thrive in a multi-dog household as he emulates other dog behaviors and picks up quickly on what is expected in the home and proper dog manners.  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Momoa is still working on potty training and his accidents are becoming fewer and further between.  He does copy the resident dog’s outside habits and benefits from taking their lead. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on his potty training success as he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. Momoa needs a consistent outside routine and a signal for potty.  He is crate-trained and will quietly sleep in his crate when his foster family happens to be away from the home. Momoa would greatly benefit if he were able to share the human bed with his adoptive family as it would be a luxury for this little boy.

Medically, Momoa is in great health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Momoa would do great in a home with a fully fenced yard!  He does love to explore the yard and is still learning what can be a danger to him, so a completely closed-fenced yard will be preferred for him.  He would be a good candidate for a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling however he must be offered routine, daily exercise to let out his puppy energy.  An apartment building with an attached fenced in dog area would be ideal (if placed in an apartment).  He is still mastering the stairs but with time he will warm up to them. He is such an athletic boy!  Momoa is quite a people’s French Bulldog, so we think he would love to eventually go to work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office.  He needs some basic training before entering the workspace but with some consistent work, he would do just fine!  If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem at all – he would much rather have a part-time work-from-home or stay-at-home parent. Momoa is a little snuggle bug looking for a home that has a family to dote on him, another dog to pal around with, one he can be included in most family outdoor activities, and can offer him daily walks, exercise, stimulation, and lots of love and attention. Momoa just wants to be close to his people (he is not a Velcro dog however and doesn’t mind sharing attention) and furry friends at all times!  Be ready for puppy shenanigans and lots of love and laughter; Momoa will make it all worth it!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Momoa, please submit an adoption application for him.

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
