Moira’s Story

Moira came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Moira came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release.  Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved, and live out her life as a cherished pet!

Meet Moira—life of the party, queen of dramatic flair, and your future partner in crime for all things fun! Moira is an animated little Frenchie with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s got energy to spare and knows how to use it—whether she’s zooming around the house, tossing her toys in the air, or rolling herself up like a burrito in every blanket she can find (she firmly believes every blanket belongs to her!).

Her absolute favorite pastime? Chewing! Bones, Nylabones, and anything else she’s allowed to gnaw on will keep her happily occupied. And when she’s not busy being the bone connoisseur of the household, she’s seeking out her next dose of human affection—because Moira craves attention. She wants the pets, the belly rubs, the scratches behind her ears, and will even throw in a dramatic flop or a perfectly-timed side-eye if you dare ignore her. Her eyes speak volumes, and trust us, they’ll keep you laughing!

Moira is learning to navigate life with other dogs and is doing well, though she still has a bit of a “mine, mine, mine!” attitude when it comes to her prized possessions—whether that’s food, water, or her favorite toy-of-the-moment. She’s a bit of a diva in that department and needs a family that will confidently guide her through boundaries and resource sharing, with plenty of patience and consistent correction when needed. She’s smart—but don’t tell her that—because in typical Frenchie fashion, she’s convinced that training is beneath her (and her face when she gets corrected with a squirt bottle? Priceless). Moira would do best with a balanced playful dog in her adoptive home.  Slow introductions to both other dogs and kids are a must to ensure the safety of all!

When it comes to humans, Moira is an all-access love bug. She adores kids and gets especially excited around them, but her enthusiasm sometimes results in jumping or playful nibbles, so slightly older, dog-savvy children would be best for her. She’d absolutely thrive in a home where there’s plenty of playtime, snuggles, and humans who understand her fun-loving, occasionally dramatic ways.

Moira does have a lazy, snuggly side, but you’ll need to help her burn through her zoomies first before she’s ready to lounge in a soft bed or curl up beside you. Life with Moira means plenty of laughter, lots of activity, and a constant companion who will always keep things interesting—and don’t be surprised if she steals your heart (and your blanket) along the way!

Moira is working hard on her potty training and making steady progress! She will happily go potty outside when taken, but she’s still learning how to communicate when she needs to go out—her foster family has found that keeping her on a regular, consistent schedule works wonders for her success. She’s doing well, but occasional accidents can still happen if her subtle cues are missed, so patience and routine will be key in her forever home.

Crate training? Moira has that part nearly mastered! She’s easily coaxed into her crate with a tasty little treat and is quiet as can be once she’s inside. She’s crated during the workday in her foster home and settles right in for a nap or some quiet relaxation. While she may not always be thrilled about going in at first, she adjusts quickly and knows it’s her safe, cozy spot. For her safety (and because she’s still learning the ropes inside the home), her foster family recommends keeping her on a similar crating schedule, especially when her people are away at work or out of the house. Moira is still figuring out boundaries and doesn’t quite understand danger yet—but with a little structure, she’s well on her way to being a polite and well-mannered pup!

Medically, Moira seems to be in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, had a dental, heartworm tested, microchipped, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Moira is the kind of girl who wants it all—space to run, a big, busy family, and plenty of love and attention! She would absolutely thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can zoom, romp, and burn off her bursts of energy. She’s an explorer at heart and loves having room to play and investigate her surroundings. A yard would also help with her continued potty training and leash learning, making life a little easier (and more fun!) for everyone.

Moira is full of personality—fun, silly, and oh-so-adorable! She’s playful and energetic, but her biggest wish is to be surrounded by her people. The more, the merrier! In fact, she’d be thrilled to have a big family—especially one with children—because that just means more hands for pets, belly rubs, and toy tossing. She’s all about the action and would love to be right in the middle of family life, soaking up every bit of attention she can get.

When it comes to stairs, Moira is a bit of a wildcard. If she’s focused and calm, she’ll take them like a champ—sometimes even two at a time with her short little legs! But when excitement takes over, she tends to “launch” herself down the stairs in typical dramatic Moira fashion, so her foster mom makes sure to guide her down safely.

She’d also make an excellent office companion for someone who can take her along to work—she lives to meet new people and would be delighted to make office rounds for pets and attention. If she can’t tag along, that’s fine too—Moira is perfectly content to snooze the day away in her crate or on a comfy bed, as long as someone can swing by midday for a potty break and a little love.

Moira is truly a one-of-a-kind Frenchie with a goofy, lovable spirit. She’s the ultimate sidekick—ready to fill her forever home with laughter, snuggles, and her irresistible charm!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Moira, please submit an adoption application for her today!!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
