Kendoll’s Story
Kendoll came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Kendoll is a vibrant, playful, and social Frenchie puppy who loves to be in the middle of all the action! She is a true social butterfly, always eager to meet new people and make new furry friends. With her big personality and love for attention, Kendoll is the life of the party wherever she goes. She has an affectionate, flirty nature and enjoys being showered with love from everyone she meets—whether they have two legs or four!
Toys are Kendoll’s greatest obsession, and she takes great pride in knowing exactly where all of her favorite ones are at all times. She loves a good game of tug-of-war, chasing balls, and chewing on bones. Plush toys are a particular favorite, and she likes to have them in her crate to keep her company. If there’s a toy to be played with, you can count on Kendoll to be right there, ready for action!
Her puppy energy is boundless—she zooms around the house, always looking for the next adventure, but she also knows how to wind down when needed. After an intense play session, she’s more than happy to snuggle up with her favorite toy or cuddle with her human for a nap. She is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, thriving on both activity and attention.
Kendoll’s high-energy nature makes her a great match for a playful, tolerant dog sibling who can keep up with her antics. She loves canine company and plays beautifully with other dogs and would do best in a home with a balanced furry friend or two. She is fantastic with children and even cat-friendly, making her a wonderful addition to a variety of family dynamics. Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both she and they are kept safe.
Like any mischievous puppy, Kendoll is still learning her manners and will need continued guidance as she matures. She is incredibly treat-motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. Because of her playful puppy tendencies—such as play nibbling—she would do best with dog-savvy, gentle, and respectful children (ages 6 and up). Slow introductions to other pets and children are always encouraged to ensure a smooth transition.
Kendoll is an affectionate, lively, and loving pup who thrives in a home filled with companionship, play, and structure. Her motto is simple: play hard, nap harder, and love endlessly. If you’re looking for an energetic, fun-loving, and snuggly Frenchie to brighten your days, Kendoll is your perfect match!
Kendoll is exceeding expectations and is nearly potty trained! As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on her potty training success as she acclimates to her new home and surroundings. Kendoll flourishes with a consistent outside routine and would benefit from a signal for potty. She is 100% crate trained and does not have any accidents while crated. She requests a favorite plushy toy and a snack before settling into her space. She sleeps quietly when her foster family happens to be away from the home as she has a comfy blanket and her favorite plush toy to keep her company. Kendoll would very much like to share a bed and offer many cuddles with her new family!
Medically, Kendoll is in good health outside of his grade 4/6 heart murmur. She had an echocardiogram (ultrasound) done on her heart. Kendoll has been diagnosed with Valvular Pulmonic Stenosis, which is a malformation of the Pulmonic valve leading to obstruction to the flow of blood from the heart into the lungs. Kendoll is on a daily heart medication/beta-blocker (atenolol) that will need to be adjusted as she grows. She shows no symptoms (fatigue, fainting, etc.) that indicate he has any issues with her heart. She will need to be monitored for any signs of heart disease or congestive heart failure as she ages (fatigue, weakness, lethargy, shortness of breath, fainting, etc.) Kendoll will need a follow-up echocardiogram at about 1-1.5 years of age to reevaluate and determine if any intervention is required ( additional medication etc). Kendoll is a happy dog (showing no outward signs of a murmur) but her heart absolutely *must* continue to be monitored by both a veterinarian *AND* a veterinary cardiologist for life. The cost of one echocardiogram ranges from approximately $500 at K-State to approximately $550 in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Please research cardiologists in your area to check on prices for future echocardiograms for her in the future as they will absolutely be required for Kendoll and can be more or less costly depending on the area in which you live. Potential adopters will need to have a veterinary cardiologist within reasonable driving distance to be approved to adopt her (3-4 hours max driving time). Since her lifespan could possibly be shorter than a “regular” dog, we want her to have the best life she could have, but that goes for all our foster dogs, of course! We will be VERY strict with “vetting” any potential adopters for Kendoll, as we want to make sure she is very loved and has the best life and care (both in-home care and vet care) that she possibly can during his lifetime although our cardiologist doesn’t think her lifespan will be affected.
Please see this link for more information on Valvular Pulmonic Stenosis: https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/cardiovascular/c_dg_pulmonic_stenosis
She has been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Kendoll would do great in any type of home since she is a champ at going up and down the stairs and is leash-trained! Since she does love to explore the yard and tends to run around the yard, needing to burn off a TON of energy, a house with a completely closed-fenced yard will be preferred for her ongoing safety (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling). Since Kendoll does not like to be without her humans and is a wonderful officemate, we do think she would be a great pet to take to the office. Since she loves her people sooooo much, she would very much love a stay-at-home or work-from-home parent. If that isn’t possible she’s completely happy sleeping part of the day away as long as she has a warm soft blanket, a furry friend or two, a safe plush toy, and her people can arrange for a mid-day potty break for her! Kendoll is a little sweetie pie looking for a home that has an active lifestyle, one that she can be included in most family outdoor activities, and can offer her daily walks, car rides, lots of playtime, and most importantly tons of love and attention. She is high energy and must have an outlet to burn it off and receive the stimulation she needs to maintain a very happy Kendoll. Be ready for the needs and care requirements of a young dog; Kendoll will make it worth it!

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
