Joker’s Story

Joker came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of his years being a spoiled pet.

Introducing Joker — the life of the party wrapped in a squishy Frenchie package!

Joker is a hilarious, energetic, and downright charming young French Bulldog ready to turn every day into an adventure! He’s a nonstop wiggle-butt, a professional snuggler, and a world-class goofball who guarantees you’ll never have a dull moment with him around.

This little guy is a play machine — bouncing around with his foster siblings (big and small), chasing after every stuffy he can find, and proudly parading around with his “prizes.” If it can be carried, tugged, or chewed (and sometimes even if it can’t), Joker’s probably already claimed it as his own! His favorites include plush toys, squeaky balls, and Nylabones… although he’s been known to “borrow” the occasional sock or kitchen towel to add to his personal collection. (Pro tip: Check his bed if something goes missing!)

Joker has a heart as big as his personality. He’s a total social butterfly who LOVES his humans — whether you’re cooking dinner, folding laundry, or just walking room to room, Joker will be your little shadow, ensuring you never do anything alone again. He’s incredibly affectionate and is always down for a belly rub, ear scratch, or full-body cuddle session after he’s played his little heart out.

He’s been around dogs of all sizes and genders and fits right in with any pack dynamic — playful, respectful, and always ready for a game of chase or a good old-fashioned wrestling match. Joker would thrive either as your one-and-only superstar or as the newest member of a dog-loving crew. As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.  As for kids? Joker’s been around tiny tots (ages 2+) and absolutely adores them — but he’s still figuring out his “brakes” and personal space (picture a bull in a china shop with a big, slobbery smile). With proper supervision and guidance, he’ll make a fantastic companion for children of all ages.

Because he’s young and mischievous at heart, Joker will need some supervision around small items (and anything else he might creatively declare a “toy”), but he’s super smart and eager to please. With consistent direction and a little patience, he’ll master his manners in no time.

Joker is looking for an active, fun-loving family who will embrace his silly antics, shower him with love, and maybe even forgive the occasional missing sock. In return, he promises a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and the best snuggles you’ve ever had.

Ready for endless adventures, constant companionship, and a daily dose of joy? Joker is your guy!

Joker is fully potty trained!! He is a smart young dog and quickly picks up on things, mimics his foster sibling’s behavior, and adapts well to routines (and is treat-motivated).  Joker is still a young dog and as with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with him, offering him a consistent schedule and working with him on a signal for potty/going outside. He is fully crate-trained and sleeps quietly (and accident-free) while in his crate.  He would love to share a bed with his adoptive family as he is a stage 5 clinger after all! He is such a snuggle bug and he must be as close as possible to those he loves the most. For his safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule be kept for him.

Medically, Joker seems to be in great health.  He has been neutered, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, heartworm tested, and has been given the okay for adoption by our veterinarian.

Joker would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his curious, explorative nature  (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling with no yard). He adores running about the backyard and the continued freedom to replay without worries is in his best interest! While a fully fenced-in yard is not required for Joker, he would do okay secured on a leash and harness as long as he was offered ample walks and an outlet to release energy.  Joker did great with a few steps in his foster home and conquered larger staircases in no time!  Joker is perfecting his leash skills, he is working on it and making great strides!   He is still a young dog who is still learning boundaries, so he must be supervised while romping around the yard and sunning his Frenchie buns.

Joker is looking for an active home that can offer him the stimulation needed.  A part-time or full-time work-from-home or stay-at-home family member would be great for him but not required.  He also would be an office-friendly pup; he is so friendly and would insist on being on the office welcoming committee! Overall, Joker is just the sweetest little love bug! He enjoys any attention, snuggle hour, wrestling sessions, playtime with his furry friends, and all people. Ultimately, he is looking for a home that has the time and patience to help guide him into a balanced adult dog, a home with another furry sibling or two, and one that isn’t gone long hours as he will need a potty break during the day. Be ready for the needs and care requirements of a young dog, Joker will make it worth it!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
