Haven’s Story

Haven came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Haven is a laid-back, go with the flow, sweet and affectionate French Bulldog with a heart as big as her love for cuddles! This sweet girl is happiest when she’s nestled close to her humans—whether that’s lounging on HER space on the couch, snuggling up for a movie night, or simply enjoying your presence while you relax. She’s the ultimate companion for anyone who loves a warm and loving pup by their side.

Haven is a gentle and social butterfly who thrives on human connection. Her favorite pastime? Being as close to her people as possible—she’ll always make sure she’s touching you, whether it’s a paw on your leg or her head resting on your lap. While she’s a certified couch potato who adores lazy afternoons, she also has a playful side! A yummy bone will keep her nibbling for hours!  She attempts to get her foster siblings to engage in some play, but no success so far.  Haven successfully will get them to run the backyard with her and even settle in and allow her snuggles. 

Haven is a pro during grooming time! She is super chill and amenable during bath time, ear cleanings and nail trimming.  DREAM GIRL! She enjoys a proper leash walk and is very easy-going; no pulling!  Haven will smell all the smells, look at all the passersby and even engage in some flirting to see if they will pay her some attention.  This girl is such a social butterfly!  Haven can be a bit of an attention hog in such a sweet and adorable way. 

Haven is wonderful with children and has been a gentle, sweet companion to the 4 and 6 year-olds in her current home. She’s also great with other dogs, especially when they respect her relaxed vibe. Have would do equally well as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention, or as part of a pack with other balanced, friendly pups. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs in the household are a must.

She’s a certified couch potato who loves nothing more than sprawling out with her humans for hours of cozy cuddles. Her quiet and laid-back nature makes her an easy fit for most homes, and she’s content as long as she has a soft couch and plenty of love.

Haven would thrive in a home where she can be close to her people and enjoy a mix of relaxing downtime and light playtime. She’s an adaptable sweetheart who can fit into many different lifestyles—she’d be just as happy as the only dog in the house or as part of a pack.

Haven’s foster family happily reports she is still working on potty training and is nearly potty trained.  She continues to make progress with a strict and routine outside schedule. It has helped her to have other furry friends for her to follow and mimic desired behaviors like going potty outside and sitting calmly when waiting for food or a snack. She currently signals she needs to go outside by sitting patiently by the door. Her adoptive family will need to be patient, willing, and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty-training success.  Haven is fully crate-trained (without accidents) and sleeps peacefully and quietly while crated. Since Haven is a master snuggler, we know she would love to share her human bed at night. For her safety, we recommend a similar arrangement when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised, so she is safe and secure while no one is at home. Haven does not know danger and is still learning how to be a pet.

Medically, Haven seems to be in great health. She has been spayed, had a dental, nares widened, palate shortened, tonsils removed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian. 

Haven is very adaptable, and we think she would do well in almost any type of home.   She loves to explore all the smells and roam about and a fenced-in yard would offer her safety and security. Have does extremely well on a leash and harness so a fenced-in yard is not required as long as she remains secured and is offered daily Frenchie suited walks to burn off some of her energy.  Haven has perfectly mastered going up and down stairs, so a multi-level home or apartment would be okay for her.  In an apartment setting, ideally, a nearby fenced-in yard would be best as she finalizes the art of potty training. She is an overall quiet pup, so a share-walled home is okay for her!  Part-time or Full-time work from home or a stay-at-home parent? Haven would absolutely love that!  She truly just wants to be near her loved ones every minute of every day.  She also would be a great candidate to take to the office; she is a go-with-the-flow kinda gal!   All she needs is a cozy bed and her favorite human! She is looking for a family that enjoys their personal space invaded and will accept every ounce of love Haven has to offer!  A family with children would be a HUGE plus for her.  Haven would like to be included in all family activities!  She will graciously hop in the car for a road trip!  Haven would love someone who is home often to offer her unlimited snuggles, unlimited pets, and couch time. Haven loves nothing more than the joys and comforts petlife has to offer!
