Haley’s Story
Haley came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
If you’re looking for a best friend who’s equal parts goofy, sweet, playful, and cuddly, look no further—Haley is your girl! This adorable little Frenchie is the perfect mix of silly and snuggly. One minute she’s proudly parading around the house with her favorite squeaky toy (she loves her toys—stuffies, chewies, and anything that makes noise), and the next minute she’s melting into your lap for a good cuddle session.
Haley has a big personality packed into her petite little frame. She’s affectionate, darling, and sweet as can be. Her favorite place in the world? Wherever her humans are! She’s a total velcro pup who insists on being your shadow—whether you’re on the couch, in the kitchen, or heading out for a walk, Haley is right there, keeping tabs on her favorite people.
This playful gal is still full of puppy energy and loves getting it out with zoomies in the yard, jumping on and off the furniture like it’s her personal jungle gym, and joining her foster siblings in a round of playtime. She enjoys the great outdoors and absolutely loves going for walks—her little legs might be short, but they sure can move!
Haley thrives with canine companionship and truly enjoys interacting with other dogs. She gets along well with her foster dog siblings and loves engaging them in play. While she can sometimes be a bit of a toy hoarder (sharing is still a work in progress), she responds well to gentle corrections and is learning that playtime is even more fun when everyone gets a turn. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and she should always be supervised to make sure she and they are kept safe.
As for cats? Haley’s curiosity is mild—she’ll say a quick “hello” to the resident feline and then go about her business. While she hasn’t met any kids yet, her loving and social nature suggests she’d likely do well with dog-savvy children who understand boundaries.
At her core, Haley is a happy, affectionate, playful little soul who simply adores her people and thrives on companionship—both human and canine. Whether she’s showing off her prized squeaky toy, exploring the yard, or snuggling up for movie night, Haley’s goofy antics and sweet snuggles will keep you smiling every day.
If you’re ready for a little shadow who will fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of Frenchie cuddles, Haley just might be the perfect fit for you.
Medically, Haley is both fecal and urine incontinent. This simply means she doesn’t have full control over when she goes potty, but don’t worry—Haley is an absolute dream when it comes to diaper changes and clean-up time! Her foster mom even admits, “I was nervous about my first diaper dog, but Haley is so easy and truly a breeze to care for.” Haley happily trots over when it’s time for a fresh diaper, knowing it means a quick change and back to playtime or snuggles. She also gets plenty of diaper-free time when she’s outside enjoying the yard. Her incontinence is believed to stem from a congenital defect and is just a small part of who she is—it certainly doesn’t slow her down one bit! Haley thrives on a raw diet, which has made a huge difference in helping regulate her stool and making care even easier. She also does well with a daily regimen of probiotics to support her digestion. Haley has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, heartworm tested, microchipped, and given the all-clear by our vet to find her forever home.
Haley doesn’t love being crated—it’s just not her thing and can cause her some stress. She does fine for short periods of time. Since she’s a master snuggler, we’re confident she would adore sharing her human’s bed at night. For her safety, when her people are away, we recommend she be gated in a small, secure space like a kitchen or bathroom. This helps keep her safe and comfy, since Haley doesn’t always understand danger and is still learning how to be a pampered house pet. Her care routine may require a little extra patience, but trust us—Haley’s incredibly sweet, loving nature makes it so worthwhile. She’s truly a one-of-a-kind gem.
Haley is an adaptable, happy-go-lucky girl who would truly excel in just about any environment—as long as her people are close by! Whether it’s an apartment, townhome, or single-family house, Haley will settle right in as long as there’s plenty of love, attention, and activity to keep her entertained. She navigates stairs like a pro, so a home with some stairs is perfectly fine for her. That said, a ranch-style home or one with minimal stairs would be ideal simply for ease as she continues building strength in her back legs. A fenced-in yard would definitely be a bonus for this outdoorsy girl who loves to zoom around, soak up the sunshine, and keep those back legs moving strong. However, daily walks, play sessions, and fetch can absolutely meet her needs if a yard isn’t available.
Haley is still very much a puppy at heart—playful, silly, and full of energy—so a family that can offer her lots of interaction, activity, and enrichment would make her the happiest girl. She’d thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day, whether that’s a stay-at-home or work-from-home parent. And if her future family wanted to take her to the office? She’d love being your tiny co-worker once she has a little time to acclimate (she may bark at unfamiliar noises at first but settles with routine).
Because of her incontinence, Haley will need a patient and understanding family willing to commit to her daily care, including regular diaper changes. The good news? Haley makes it easy. Her foster mom can’t say enough how effortless it becomes—Haley is cooperative, sweet, and such a joy that her extra needs quickly become second nature. She’s a resilient little rockstar who doesn’t know she’s any different and lives life to the absolute fullest. Her giant heart, endless love, and vibrant personality make every bit of effort beyond worth it.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
