Fiona’s Story

Fiona came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Fiona is a sweet and soulful French Bulldog with a heart full of love and a personality as warm as the sunshine she adores! This laid-back girl knows how to make the most of every day—whether that’s finding the sunniest spot in the house to stretch out and sun her cute little buns, engaging in a playful wrestling match with her favorite doggy friends, or simply enjoying a peaceful nap while her humans go about their day.

Fiona is the perfect mix of relaxed and playful. Most of the time, she’s content to lounge around, watching the world go by with her calm and gentle demeanor. But don’t be fooled—when the mood strikes, she gets bursts of joyful energy and loves a good round of wrestling with her canine companions! She thrives in the company of both big and small dogs, as long as they enjoy her fun-loving, short-bursts of a rough-and-tumble style of play.

She’s also wonderful with children and has been a gentle, sweet presence around kids ranging from 7 to 17. Fiona’s patience and easygoing nature make her a great fit for a family, but she’d be equally happy in a quieter home where she can soak up love and affection without too much hustle and bustle. She prefers a relaxed environment over a fast-paced or high-energy household—she’s all about those peaceful vibes!

One of Fiona’s best qualities is how independent she can be. While she adores affection and will happily snuggle up with her humans, she’s also perfectly content with alone time. If you have a busy schedule or work outside the home, Fiona is the perfect companion—she’ll nap the day away, recharging for an evening of cuddles and companionship when you return.

If you’re searching for a low-maintenance, affectionate, and easygoing companion who will bring sunshine into your life (both figuratively and literally!), Fiona is the one for you. Whether she’s lounging in a sunbeam, playing with her doggy pals, or curling up for a quiet evening, she will fill your home with warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.

Whether you’re a family with kids, a single person, or a couple looking for a loving companion, Fiona will settle right into your life. She’s an adaptable sweetheart who can fit into many different lifestyles—she’d be just as happy as the only dog in the house or as part of a pack.

Fiona is ready to meet her forever family and bring endless love, warmth, and snuggles into their lives. If you’re searching for a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing companion who will be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, Fiona is the perfect match. Don’t wait to meet this precious girl—she’s ready to light up your life with her big heart and loving spirit!

Fiona’s foster family happily reports she is still working on potty training and is nearly potty trained.  She continues to make progress with a strict and routine outside schedule. It has helped her to have other furry friends for her to follow and mimic desired behaviors like going potty outside.  Her adoptive family will need to be patient, willing, and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty-training success.  Fiona needs a signal for potty.  Fiona is fully crate-trained (without accidents) although she playfully will run away from her crate she does great and is calm.  She is comfortable inside her crate and will sleep peacefully and quietly.  Since Fiona is a master snuggler, we know she would love to share her human bed at night. For her safety, we recommend a similar arrangement when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised, so she is safe and secure while no one is at home. Fiona does not know danger and is still learning how to be a pet.

Medically, Fiona seems to be in great health. She has been spayed, had a dental, nares widened, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian.

Fiona is very adaptable, and we think she would do well in almost any type of home, but would do best in a house with a fenced yard since she is working on perfecting potty training and does not know danger.  She loves to sun her buns, explore all the smells and roam about and a fenced-in yard would offer her safety and security. Her leash skills are a work in progress; initially, she freezes but once she gets going she forgets all about it.  She will need some fine-tuning in that department!  Fiona has been working on conquering the stairs; with some time and encouragement (and a little help from her furry friends), Fiona has made great progress and can do stairs with ease.  In an apartment setting, ideally, a ground-level unit with a nearby fenced-in yard would be best as she finalizes the art of potty training. She is an overall quiet pup, so a share-walled home is okay for her!

Fiona also would be a great candidate to take to the office; she is a go-with-the-flow kinda gal and very adaptable!  All she needs is a cozy bed and her favorite human! She is looking for a family that enjoys quieter evenings on the couch, porch, or outdoor deck. Fiona would like lots of attention from those she loves most!  Someone who can offer her unlimited snuggles, unlimited pets, and couch time is her kind of person. A balanced playmate that is up from some playtime and wrestling would be the icing on Fiona’s cake!  Fiona loves nothing more than the joys and comforts pet life has to offer!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
