Destiny’s Child’s Story

Destiny’s Child came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Destiny’s Child (or just Destiny, as she is affectionately referred to) is a pawfect balance of energy and a couch potato!  She is often a laid-back, sweet, silly, playful French bulldog who loves her similar-sized furry friends more than anything.  The next minute, she is a human shadow following around her favorite people in hopes it is couch time where she receives an unlimited amount of pets.  Loving her people and furry friends is probably a HUGE understatement… she is a shadow, total velcro, stage 5 clinger!.  You can always find her where her people are; ALWAYS.  Destiny is VERY curious and always needs to know what is going on at all times; nosey Nelly!  She is a big fan of all the finer things pet life has to offer like warm, comfy beds, humans to snuggle with, and unlimited pets. Destiny is such a happy pup as she is all about showing off the cutest little wiggle butt as her little nub for a tail is constantly in motion.  She has an overall very loving, kind, sweet, and gentle disposition. Her foster family reports she loves other dogs (similar in size) and is particularly fond of ALL toys that can keep her attention; especially those that have treats hidden inside.  Destiny is reported to have zero issues with her furry siblings (cats too). She is happy to share food, treats, attention, and pets! Destiny is adaptable in every situation and just is so happy to be with and around those she adores the most.  We feel she would do best in a home with another playful dog similar to her size; this is not optional for Destiny.  She MUST have a balanced furry buddy to pal around with, snuggle with, and keep her company.  Destiny would thrive in a home with other dogs who will show her the ropes on how to be a pampered pet and get used to the pet life! She loves all humans (big and small)! She is reported to do well with humans of all ages as she has such a loving, gentle disposition, we think she would do very well in a home with easy-going, calm, super mellow children who could dote on her every moment of every day!  It is important to remember that Destiny is going through a big transition and will need time to adjust and acclimate to her new surroundings.  As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Destiny is struggling with potty training and her foster family reports she is inconsistent at best and will need some ongoing work.  She will have accidents if left unattended or alone for too long. Consistency and a strict routine will be needed for her to have success.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with her offering her a consistent schedule. Destiny is crate trained, however, does not prefer her crate.  She would much rather sleep in your lap than in her crate but must keep a strict crate routine until she is potty trained. Her foster family reports that she does sleep in the crate overnight and when they leave for work. Given that Destiny loves her people, we think she’d be a dog who might enjoy snuggling in the human bed once she is fully potty trained.

Medically, Destiny is in great shape!  She has been spayed, had a dental, updated on vaccinations/deworming, heartworm tested, is microchipped, and has been given a clean bill of health for adoption by our veterinarian.

Destiny would do best in any fenced-in home setting as she is a pro at steps, will follow anyone, and could easily wander away, is still working on potty training and leash training.  A share-walled environment would not be ideal for her as she can get upset and make loud noises when in her crate.  We think she’d love to eventually go to work with her new family as Destiny enjoys all the attention humans can give her (once she is fully potty trained, of course). She would also enjoy a human that works from home part-time or full-time and can spend all their time with her!  At a minimum, Destiny needs a family that has someone that can go home for lunch to let her outside as she is unable to hold it for long periods.  Ultimately, Destiny is looking for a family that will forever love her!  She desperately wants a life of pampering and being the center of her family’s world! Destiny is an affectionate, loving Frenchie looking for someone to spoil her with all the attention she deserves and to show her true love and companionship. She will return all the love she is offered and greet you daily as if her people have been gone for weeks!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
