Cammie’s Story
Cammie came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Cammie came into SNAFU Rescue via breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out her life as a cherished pet.
Cammie isn’t just a name—it’s a promise of playfulness, curiosity, and a heart full of love! This little lady is the perfect blend of spunky and sweet, always ready for a game of chase with her furry friends or a cozy cuddle session in a fluffy dog bed. With her lively personality and affectionate nature, Cammie will bring joy and laughter to any home lucky enough to have her.
Cammie is a curious explorer with a puppy-like zest for life. While she’s not a puppy, she still has those playful tendencies—she’ll occasionally grab things she shouldn’t (like cords or the corners of tables), but with a little redirection, she happily moves on to her beloved bones and squeaky toys. She is experiencing a big change and will need boundaries and guidance as she acclimates into another home. Her enthusiasm for playtime is matched only by her love for snuggling, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys both an active and relaxed lifestyle.
Other dogs? Cammie absolutely adores them! She thrives in the company of canine friends and would love a home with a playful, tolerant dog who doesn’t mind a bit of extra enthusiasm. Big or small, she loves them all! Personal space isn’t always her strong suit—she just wants to be as close as possible to her doggy buddies! Whether it’s romping around outside or curling up together for a nap, she finds comfort and joy in their presence.
While Cammie hasn’t been around cats, her gentle nature suggests that with proper introductions, she could do well with feline friends. She also hasn’t been around kids, but her affectionate and easy going temperament makes her a great candidate for a home with dog-savvy children who can appreciate her playful and cuddly side. Slow introductions to both furry friends and children is a must to ensure safety for all parties.
Cammie’s ideal home is one that appreciates her mix of energy and affection. She’d love a family who enjoys playtime just as much as she does, but who also understands that she’s still learning boundaries and needs a little guidance. A secure yard where she can satisfy her curiosity and enjoy the fresh air would be a dream come true, and of course, a cozy bed (or a welcoming lap) for post-playtime snuggles is a must.
If you’re looking for a dog who will make you smile every day, keep you entertained with her playful antics, and then curl up in your arms for a cozy nap, Cammie is the perfect match.
Cammie’s foster family happily reports she is making strides every day and potty training is going well. A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home. When her schedule is varied, accidents can occur. She would benefit from a signal for potty. Cammie is not fully crate trained as the crate is not a place she enjoys to be. She will use her voice to shout out her displeasure and will have accidents from the anxiety she has in the crate. Cammie prefers to be secured in a small dog-safe space when her foster family is away from the home. She will peacefully nap in her bed when her foster family is not home and at bedtime. For her safety, we recommend a similar schedule for her as when her family happens to be away from the home as she does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home. Cammie would love to share a bed at night with her adoptive family. She loves to cuddle and press against you for comfort and safety.
Medically, Cammie seems to be in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, had a dental with extractions, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Cammie would thrive in any home as long as she has a loving human who treats her like the princess she is! Whether it’s a multi-level house or ranch-style with a fenced yard she’s happy as long as she’s with her people. While a fenced yard isn’t required but would be best for her ongoing safety. So if there’s no fence, she’ll need to be secured with a leash/harness—this little lady doesn’t know boundaries! Cammie will need some leash work… she is not a fan of it! She would do great with all types of families, but if there are young kids who tend to leave doors open, extra caution will be needed because Cammie won’t hesitate to dash off on an adventure as this girl has no fear!
Cammie is the ultimate companion, always by your side no matter what you’re doing. Cooking in the kitchen? She’s right there smelling the soup de jour!. Lounging on the couch? She’s already warming up your spot. Even when you’re in the shower, she’ll patiently wait right outside the door. At night, she prefers to be snuggled up in bed with her human, soaking up all the love and warmth she can get.
She does well in her dog-safe space for a few hours while her foster goes into the office, but she’d much rather be out and about with her people. She is a low-key and easygoing gal. If her future family wants to take her to the office, she’d be the perfect work buddy—she’s quiet, calm, and happy to nap in a cozy dog bed or even curl up on a lap.
Cammie would be an excellent companion for any family who wants a loving, affectionate dog to dote on, as long as they’re willing to continue working with her on leash skills. Cammie desires a playful pup that can keep up with her shenanigans by day and cuddle up at night. She is fantastic with stairs, can easily jump onto furniture, and is always ready to snuggle. She is a truly happy, lovable, and sweet girl who will shower her family with endless love and companionship!
Cammie is truly special! With a heart of gold and nothing but love to give, she adores cuddling, playing with a toy, nibbling on a bone and making you feel like the best thing ever. She’s a gentle soul who deserves to be pampered and loved for the rest of her life. She’s an absolute gem and will bring endless joy to her adoptive family.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
