Bumble Bee’s Story
Bumble Bee came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Bumble Bee is an overall relaxed, laid-back, chill, and lazy girl. She fancies couch time, snuggle time, TV time, and being near her people. BB (as she is affectionately referred to) finds enjoyment in chewing on her squeaky Lamb Chop toy and nibbling on her Nylabone as long as her people are nearby! Be ready for indoor cuddle time and some outside backyard time as she loves to explore around the fenced-in backyard; only if the weather suits her! BB is definitely a fair-weather dog as the cold, rain, and snow are of no interest to her! She is curious about the outdoors and will absolutely explore every inch of the yard when she has the opportunity. BB adores all people (adults and school-aged children) and desires to be with her people doing whatever they are doing at all times. She positively feeds off their energy and will relax when they relax and will play when they want to play; a game of tug is one of her favorites! BB is a demanding snuggler. She will immediately grab an open spot on the couch; she will affectionately thank her beloved humans with some kisses during her cuddle time! BB isn’t always a total couch potato! She most certainly can be active! BB enjoys a jaunt around the neighborhood during her pack walks to show off her ever-improving leash skills. She is very content with a slow-paced short walk. Once her walk is over, you can find her in her favorite place; the soft couch! She will be all cuddled up in the corner (with her human close of course) catching a much-desired snooze. She is a social butterfly as she enjoys all company that comes through the front door! More people who pay her attention the better! BB does seem to get along well with every human she meets (big or small) but only has been introduced to school-aged children thus far. We think she would do best in a home with children 8 years or older. Slow introductions and supervision around children are a must to be sure they and she are kept safe. Bumble definitely can be a little troublemaker when around other dogs. She is still learning dog manners and is usually a little cranky and awkward with one of her foster siblings. BB does great with the more passive of her two furry friends. She thinks other dogs want “her things” which can be considered rude dog behavior, especially to more dominant dogs. She is slowly learning manners, however, she does resource guard her toys and bones (only from other dogs, not people) and that is why we think she would do best and be happiest if placed in a home as an only dog or with a very calm, passive and balanced dog. Having a furry friend would be good for her but needs a non-alpha personality. We do not know if she resource guards her food as she is fed separately and should always be fed separately to ensure no issues. Bumble Bee needs a family willing to work with her on learning manners, the ways of pet life and will need a family who is willing to spend extra time with her and offer her patience and introduce her slowly to new things to build her confidence.
Bumble Bee’s foster family happily reports she is 95% potty trained. She successfully started to use the resident doggy door (under supervision). A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home. BB is crate trained and often retreats to her crate for a nap. It is a safe and happy place for her! For her safety, we recommend that she is kept on a similar crating schedule when her family is away at work or leaves the home. She does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home. BB loves her humans so much that we believe she would like to show off her snuggling abilities and share her human’s bed in her adoptive home.
Medically, Bumble Bee seems to be in great health! She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Bumble Bee would be happiest in a house with a yard (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling with no yard). She does very well on a leash so a fence would not be required for her but is always preferred. BB is a very quiet dog so a share-walled home would be okay for her. She DOES do very well with stairs and they do not phase her one bit! We also think she’d love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office! She loves to meet new people and will soak up all the extra attention that is offered! If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem – she’s completely happy sleeping part of the day away as long as her people can arrange a mid-day potty break for her and are not gone all the workday! BB is looking for a low-key home that her people around more often. She loves to play with her plush toys, explore around the yard, and explore and investigate what her people might be doing at all times. BB is an expert cuddle bug seeking attention and adoration from her loved ones and would love to spend the evenings snuggled up on the couch, receiving a few belly rubs, and relaxing with her loving family.

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
