Boba’s Story

Boba came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Boba is an active, playful, attention-seeking, VERY social, fearless, outgoing, and friendly Boston Terrier puppy.  She enjoys romping around the house and exploring every inch of her surroundings.  Boba is incredibly active and desires extra play sessions with her furry foster siblings.  It is play-play all day for this cutie pie.  When she isn’t running, jumping, chewing on bones, trying to bat around her beloved toys, or non-stop playing, Boba will finally settle in for a much-needed puppy snooze.  After her nap, she will request a game of tug-of-war or even a little gentle wrestling with her furry friends.  She thinks every single dog should be her instant BFF.  She is learning how to properly approach other dogs and most times comes across as “too much”.  She doesn’t understand social cues and is a bull in a china shop when it comes to attracting other dogs to play.  Boba will instantly roll onto her back, showing her belly to indicate she is ready to play!  Yes, Boba is all play, play, and more play!  Once the fun and excitement are over, she will search for her beloved bone and snuggle up in any comfy spot to yet again grab a snooze in the hope her favorite human is available to snuggle.  Boba will always look for her people to partake in a cuddle session during her snooze.  She truly just wants to be with her people all the time as she finds comfort in their presence and the attention she is offered.  After another much-needed puppy nap, she is off circling the house following her foster siblings around, mimicking their behaviors, and stealing their toys.  Boba’s overall fun, happy disposition allows her to get along with her furry foster siblings but her overzealous personality can be a bit much at times for the resident pups. Boba does not know danger and should always be supervised as she is still a young dog learning what is expected of her in the home.  She has a very lovable and docile temperament which is favorable when she is around other dogs. She has yet to meet any human, big or small (small from a distance on walks), that she hasn’t fallen head over paws for.  Because of her lighthearted disposition, we feel Boba will do perfectly well with playful dogs and with do-savvy, gentle, respectful children of any age.  Boba is still a young puppy and she comes with all the puppy tendencies. She needs some basic puppy training to learn what is expected of her in the home.  We also feel Boba would thrive in a multi-dog household as she emulates other dog behaviors and picks up quickly on what is expected in the home and proper dog manners. Boba would also do great as an only dog ASSUMING her adoptive owners are ready to play, be home a lot, and keep her busy/stimulated.  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both she and they are kept safe.

Boba is still perfecting potty training. She is progressing very well with the help of her furry friends but will need a consistent schedule to help.   As with all of our dogs, any adopter must be patient and willing to continue working on her potty training success as she acclimates to her new home and surroundings. Boba needs an outside routine, positive reinforcement, and a proper signal for potty.  She is 100% crate-trained and does not have any accidents in her crate.  She sleeps quietly when her foster family happens to be away from the home and adorably will rest her little head on a comfy blanket.  Boba does sleep in her crate in the evening but would much rather share a bed and offer snuggles to her new family (once she is fully potty trained)!

Medically, Boba is in great health!  She has been spayed, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Boba would do great in any type of home since she is a champ at going up and down the stairs!  Since she does love to explore the yard and is still perfecting her potty training skills, a house with a completely closed fenced yard will be preferred for her (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling).  An apartment with a ground-level unit with a fenced yard would be okay for Boba as long as she is offered the desired exercise she needs.  She requires space to let her energy out!  Since Boba is quite a people’s puppy, we think she would love to eventually go to work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office.  She needs some basic training before entering the workspace but with some consistent work, she would do just fine (eventually)!  If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem at all – she’s completely happy sleeping part of the day away as long as she has a warm soft blanket and her people can arrange for a mid-day potty break or two for her!  A part-time or full-time work-from-home or stay-at-home family member would be ideal for her.  She adores the company of her humans!  Boba is a little snuggle bug looking for a home that has an active family to dote on her, one with lots of people to play with her, can be included in most family outdoor activities, can offer her the exercise she desires, and lots of love and attention. Boba is such a great independent little girl who is full of personality that will offer a family so much joy, love, and happiness.  Please be prepared for the ongoing care requirements that are needed to take care of a young dog.  Boba is full of energy, has an overly friendly demeanor, and needs a family that is willing and able to match her levels!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
