Blondie’s Story

Blondie came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.

Blondie is a spirited and affectionate French Bulldog with a delightful blend of energy, spunk, cuddles, and love! This athletic little lady thrives on activity and connection, making her an ideal companion for someone who enjoys both adventure and downtime. With her playful personality and big heart, Blondie is sure to bring joy to any home lucky enough to welcome her.

Blondie is an adaptable dog who can easily switch between relaxed cuddles on the couch and bursts of playful energy. She loves running and romping in the yard, chasing after tennis balls, and tugging on her favorite rope toys. She’s an excellent fetch partner, always eager to keep the game going! Antlers and chew toys are some of her go-to favorites, keeping her entertained during quieter moments.

Blondie is also wonderfully athletic and enjoys staying active. Despite her compact size, she has a zest for life that makes her an ideal adventure buddy, whether it’s a long walk, tug with her favorite snowman toy, or a spirited play session in the backyard.

Though she can be timid with new people, Blondie warms up beautifully with patience and time. Once you’re in her circle, prepare to be showered with love and insistent requests for belly rubs! Her affectionate nature truly shines when she feels safe and comfortable.

Blondie has a playful and respectful relationship with her foster sister, a laid-back bullboxer. She enjoys having a canine companion to romp and play with, so she would do well with another dog in the home if it’s the right fit. That said, she’s equally capable of soaking up all the love and attention as the only dog in the household.

Blondie is curious about cats—she’ll cautiously chase them but doesn’t quite know what to do once she gets close. Her interactions are more playful than aggressive, making her a good candidate for a cat-friendly household with proper introductions.

Blondie hasn’t met any children in her foster home, but due to her skittishness with sudden movements or being grabbed, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact gently and respectfully with her. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must.

If you’re looking for a dog who can bring both energy and affection into your life, Blondie is the perfect match. Whether she’s fetching her favorite toy, cuddled up by your side, or exploring the great outdoors, Blondie’s adaptable and loving nature will make her a treasured member of your family.

Blondie’s foster family happily reports she is still working on potty training and it is a work in progress.  She continues to make some progress with a strict and routine outside schedule. It has helped her to have other furry friends for her to follow and mimic desired behaviors like going potty outside. She currently signals she needs to go outside by sniffing around or trying to hide. Her adoptive family will need to be extra patient, willing, and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty-training efforts.

Blondie is fully crate-trained (without accidents) and actually likes her crate!  Since Blondie is a master snuggler, we know she would love to eventually share her human bed at night once she is fully potty trained; but not before.  For her safety, we recommend a similar arrangement when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised, so she is safe and secure while no one is at home. Blondie does not know danger and is still learning how to be a pet.

Medically, Blondie seems to be in great health. She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian.

Blondie is very adaptable, and we think she would do well in almost any type of home, but would do best in a house with a fenced yard since she is working on perfecting potty training and does not know danger.  She loves to explore all the smells and roam about and a fenced-in yard would offer her safety and security. Sometimes her nose gets the best of her and her curiosity gets the best of her!

Blondie has perfectly mastered going up and down stairs, so a multi-level home or apartment would be okay for her.  In an apartment setting, ideally, a nearby fenced-in yard or a ground-level adjacent fenced-in area would be best as she finalizes the art of potty training. She is an overall quiet pup with a few normal barks, so a share-walled home is okay for her!  Part-time or Full-time work from home or a stay-at-home parent? Blondie would absolutely love that but is not required.  If her family works outside the home, a midday potty break would be necessary for her.  She is looking for a low-key, quiet family that enjoys their personal space invaded and will accept every ounce of love Blondie has to offer!  Blondie would like to be included in all family activities!  She will graciously hop in the car for a road trip and be the best adventure buddy! Blondie would love someone who is around often to offer her unlimited snuggles, unlimited pets, and couch time. Blondie loves nothing more than the joys and comforts petlife has to offer!

Blondie is ready to find her forever home—one filled with patience, understanding, and lots of love. She promises to return that love tenfold, along with plenty of smiles, snuggles, and unforgettable adventures!

disclaimer

Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.

We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.

We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
