GG’s Story
GG came into the SNAFU Rescue via a shelter pull. The shelter wanted her to be placed in a breed specific rescue to provide the medical care she needed and to find her a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
GG is a social, lighthearted, and delightfully playful girl. Her ears may say Frenchie, but her personality is pure Bulldog—silly, stubborn, loving, and always ready for affection.
GG adores her people and makes sure you never forget she’s around for pets. She’ll follow her favorite human from room to room before settling into a cozy bed with one of her many favorite bones (because truly… every bone is her favorite). She’ll happily chew away until she’s worn herself out and drifts into a long, snoring bulldog nap. After her snooze? She wakes up ready to do it all over again—bones, chewing, chuck-it balls, repeat. Her love of balls can turn into a full-blown obsession, so she benefits from gentle breaks and redirection.
GG enjoys being outdoors, but only if her humans are out there with her. Her people are her whole world, and she always wants to know where they are.
In her foster home, GG lives with five resident dogs ranging from 20 to 80 pounds—males and females—and she has gotten along beautifully with all of them. She’s especially fond of the other female dog, forming a sweet “sisterly” friendship: lots of love and play with just a bit of competition over bones. GG redirects easily and respects the resident queen bee when asked to share (even if she does it a bit reluctantly). Her balanced personality helps other dogs feel comfortable around her, too.
GG has handled the transition to home life with impressive resilience. Everyday household noises—refrigerators, toilets flushing, power tools—were likely brand-new to her, but she quickly learned they were nothing to fear. Almost immediately after slow introductions, she showed interest in play and interaction. Like many Bulldogs, her play can be on the rougher side, but with consistent direction she matches the energy of her foster pack perfectly.
She loves curling up on the couch with her people just as much as snuggling with her canine friends. GG is extremely motivated by human attention—often more than treats—which makes training and direction very effective. She’s a compact 34-pound ball of muscle and confidence, sprinting through zoomies and chasing her Frenchie foster sister like she’s twice her size. Her personality is HUGE, her antics endless, and after every burst of activity she’s ready for a classic bulldog nap.
GG joined a busy rescue event after just one week in foster care and handled it like a champ, loving every person and dog she met. She truly is a “go-with-the-flow” girl who brings joy and affection everywhere she goes.
She blends beautifully into a pack and has done wonderfully with all the dogs in her foster home—including the female Frenchie pack leader. Because she’s such a social and playful butterfly, she would love at least one balanced furry sibling in her forever home.
GG is currently in a big transition, so she’ll need confident leadership and clear guidance to understand expectations in her adoptive home. She’s smart, eager to please, and highly responsive to human encouragement, so with structure she will settle in quickly. She may try to bulldoze her way into your lap or personal space (classic Bulldog charm!), so consistent boundaries will help her thrive.
GG loves humans of every size. She has been very gentle with the visiting children in her foster home (ages 6 and 8). While her bulldog snorts and grumbles were a little intimidating at first, the kids quickly learned she’s incredibly sweet and just wants love—she’s now a visitor favorite! As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs and supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both she and they are kept safe.
Her foster family believes she would do best in a home with at least one other dog to play and snuggle with. As always, we recommend slow introductions between dogs and supervision around children when welcoming a new pup.
GG is as goofy, loving, and loyal as they come—and she’s ready to bring that joy to her forever family.
GG has picked up potty training very quickly. In true bulldog fashion, she sometimes needs a little encouragement to go outside—but because she craves human touch and loves following her people, it’s easy to get her moving. She’s learned that if she potties quickly, she gets to head right back inside to her cozy bed… so now she’s super speedy about it! She has been accident-free for quite some time in her foster home.
Her foster mom works from home and lets her out every few hours, which has helped reinforce that outside is the right place to go. GG doesn’t mind her crate, but the great news is that she also sleeps like an absolute angel in her human’s bed. She has even been trusted to free-roam when her foster family is away for a few hours—and she’s done an excellent job.
As with all of our dogs, her future adopter will need to provide a consistent potty schedule and may want to work with her on a clear potty signal. When left home alone, GG is trusted to roam the house, which usually means curling up on a dog bed and snoozing.
Because she loves to cuddle and be close to her people, we think she would absolutely adore sharing a bed with her forever family once her potty training is fully complete and she can be trusted overnight.
Medically, GG seems to be in good health! She is at an ideal weight for her frame. When she entered rescue she had a severe skin infection and lots of missing hair. Some of that has started to grow back and her allergies have been kept in check with a daily allergy pill and routine; weekly medicated baths to soothe her skin. She did have her tail amputated, which has given her so much relief from the bacterial infections she grew in her massive tail pocket. She had an entropion surgery on her left eye, due to her eyelid curling in.
She has been spayed, dental with extractions, is updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
GG would do wonderfully in most home environments. She’s petite, agile, and surprisingly athletic for a bulldog, so stairs are no trouble at all for her. A fenced yard would be ideal since she loves exploring, sniffing, and roaming around—as long as her people are outside with her. That said, she’d also do perfectly fine in a home without a yard because GG never strays far from her trusted humans (secured at all times with a leash and harness of course). Her favorite place in the world is simply wherever her people are.
GG would thrive with someone who enjoys constant companionship. Morning kisses? Yes, please. Couch hangs? Absolutely. Nap time and cuddle time? She insists. GG is happiest being included in the daily rhythm of her family’s life and will follow her favorite humans from room to room, ready to offer love or ask for it in return.
She’s picked up the most adorable habits—like “tripoding” on her booty to beg for pets or rolling over to proudly present her beautiful belly for rubs. GG loves every human who shows her attention and has quickly become a visitor favorite in her foster home.
With her social, gentle-natured personality, GG would be an excellent office companion if her workplace allows dogs. She’s also a great fit for someone who works from home part-time or full-time, or for a stay-at-home parent. Even though she’s content to nap the day away, she’ll need a mid-day potty break to keep her successful routine going.
GG is also a wonderful candidate for many household types—singles, couples, or families with kids who understand gentle dog manners. She enjoys being part of a pack and would love a balanced furry sibling, but she would also thrive as the center of someone’s world as long as there’s plenty of companionship and structure.
At the end of the day, GG is searching for something simple and sweet:
a family who will love her, guide her, and enjoy having a loyal shadow following them 24/7.
She’s ready to give back that love tenfold
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for GG, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
