Biscuit’s Story
Biscuit came into the SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home and spend the rest of her years being a spoiled pet.
Meet Biscuit — a playful, affectionate little shadow who brings equal parts fun, curiosity, and cozy companionship wherever she goes 💕
Biscuit is the kind of girl who keeps life moving in the best way. She’s active, engaged, and happiest when she’s part of whatever is going on around her — whether that’s romping around with her toys, following her foster siblings from room to room, or supervising daily life with her signature curious charm. If there’s action, Biscuit is right there. And if things slow down? She’s more than happy to curl up for a nap in her dog bed… or even better, in your lap.
She’s incredibly social and people-loving, greeting new friends with instant enthusiasm and a hopeful little bounce for head scratches. Biscuit doesn’t believe in strangers — only future best friends. She thrives on attention and will gladly soak up every bit of love offered (and may gently nudge her way in to make sure she doesn’t miss out!).
Biscuit’s joy for life shines brightest in her favorite activities: snuggles, walks, sunbathing, playing with her toys, and — of course — more snuggles. She’s a true toy enthusiast and loves everything from plushies and balls to Benebones and rope toys. Outside, she’s just as content trotting proudly with a simple stick, proving it’s the little things that make her happiest.
A true “dog’s dog,” Biscuit absolutely blossoms with canine companionship. She is incredibly curious about other dogs and naturally mimics their behavior, looking to them for guidance and confidence. Because of this, she would thrive in a home with at least one well-balanced dog to show her the ropes. While she gets along with dogs of all sizes, she especially enjoys companions closer to her own size and energy.
Biscuit has also been introduced to cats and handles herself with respectful curiosity. She may follow along to investigate or even offer a playful bow, but she takes cues well and gives space when the cat isn’t interested. A dog-savvy cat and proper introductions would set everyone up for success.
When it comes to kids, Biscuit is all in. She loves children of all ages and has done well with little ones through teens. She’ll happily sit for pets and affection, though she may occasionally get a bit enthusiastic with face kisses or put her paws up in excitement. With supervision and continued guidance on manners, she’ll make a wonderful family companion.
Biscuit is still learning the basics and hasn’t had formal training yet, but she is incredibly eager to please. She’s motivated by praise, treats, and — most importantly — by watching and copying other dogs. She’s already working on commands like “sit,” “drop it,” and “leave it,” and with consistency, she’s sure to keep improving.
Like many dogs who love deeply, Biscuit can sometimes show a bit of possessiveness over her humans, especially around larger dogs. She may nudge her way into attention or occasionally show some mild resource guarding behaviors. However, she responds well to correction, has no history of aggression or biting, and continues to make progress with structure and guidance.
At her core, Biscuit is a loving, loyal, and delightfully fun companion — equal parts playful pup and devoted cuddle bug. She’s happiest when she’s near her people and her dog friends, soaking up love, learning the ropes, and enjoying every moment along the way.
If you’re looking for a social, snuggly, toy-loving girl who will follow you from room to room, keep you smiling, and curl up close when the day is done — Biscuit is ready to be your little shadow and your biggest fan 💛
Biscuit has been doing wonderfully with her potty training and has come a long way — she rarely has accidents in the house and is building great habits with a consistent routine in place. Most mishaps can be traced back to timing or subtle cues being missed, rather than confusion. She’s a smart girl who understands what’s expected and continues to improve every day.
Biscuit does best when kept on a predictable schedule. She’s currently let out first thing in the morning, after meals, after work, after dinner, and right before bedtime. When given that structure, she’s very reliable. She’s also great at holding it overnight, sleeping a full 8 hours without needing a potty break — whether she’s in her crate or snuggled up in bed with her humans.
Like many dogs, Biscuit is still learning how to clearly communicate when she needs to go. She may show subtle signs like restlessness, so staying attentive and proactive will set her up for continued success. There have been a few isolated instances (just a couple of times) where she’s urinated in her larger foster brother’s kennel, which appears to be more behavioral than a potty training issue. With continued structure and guidance, this is very manageable.
Biscuit is crate trained and does well overall, though she isn’t shy about voicing her opinion at first. If she knows you’re leaving or nearby while she’s crated, she may have a brief “vocal moment” to protest — but she settles in shortly after. Creating a positive association has helped a lot: she gets a treat when going in and enjoys cozy, plush bedding where she can dig and nest to her heart’s content.
She typically uses her crate for bedtime or when her humans are away. During the day, she’s crated near the other dogs, and at night, she sleeps in the bedroom where she can see her people — which helps her feel secure and safe.
Biscuit has a really strong foundation already, and with continued consistency, she’s set up to be fully reliable in no time. 💛
Medically, Biscuit seems to be in good health! She has been spayed, nares widened, dental cleaning w/ extractions, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Biscuit does have those pesky Frenchie allergies. They are managed with an OTC allergy med, cytopoint injections during high allergy months and 2x weekly ear, facial folds a tail pocket cleanings. She does have an inverted tail pocket that is managed with cleanings and does not require surgical intervention at this time.
She recently had a lime-sized mass removed from her leg, and her pathology results brought very reassuring news. The mass was identified as a mast cell tumor, which can sound scary — but in Biscuit’s case, it is low grade with a low mitotic count, meaning it is a non-aggressive form.
While the exact surgical margins couldn’t be fully evaluated due to tissue separation, her veterinary team removed an additional tissue plane beneath the mass during surgery. Because of this, clean margins are considered very likely, even though they couldn’t be definitively confirmed.
The most important takeaway is that, even in the unlikely event that any microscopic cells remain, this type of low-grade tumor has a very low risk of recurrence. Biscuit is expected to move forward with a bright, healthy future ahead of her.
Biscuit would do well in a variety of loving homes, as long as she’s included in daily life and given plenty of attention, structure, and companionship. She’s an adaptable, people-oriented girl who thrives on being part of the action — whether that’s with a family, kids, or a devoted single person.
A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal, as Biscuit loves being outside to run, play, and explore alongside her humans and dog friends. She can be a bit curious about what’s beyond the fence, so a safe, enclosed space helps keep her adventures contained.
She would absolutely thrive with another well-balanced dog in the home. Biscuit looks to her canine companions for guidance and loves to follow their lead, making a dog sibling an important part of her continued growth and happiness.
Because she can be a bit vocal in her crate, an apartment setting may not be the best fit. However, she does well with a typical workday schedule as long as she has a midday potty break and gets plenty of engagement and love when her people are home.
Biscuit is confident, social, and loves meeting new people — she’d even enjoy an office environment where she can greet everyone and soak up attention. She’s the ultimate “Velcro” Frenchie, always close by, always part of the moment, and always ready to bring joy, energy, and affection into your life 💛

disclaimer
Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3–4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.
We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.
We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don’t feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog’s foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter cannot keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes all short-nosed breeds in need.
